Pixi's Caribbean Flavas — Restaurant in St Helens

🇯🇲🌴Just indulged in an unforgettable meal at Pixi’s Caribbean Flavours on North Road! 🌴🇯🇲 I've been eagerly anticipating their arrival in St Helens since I saw the magic they brought to Widnes and Warrington a while back. After patiently waiting for their opening, today was the day i tried it for myself, and let me tell you, it was worth every second of anticipation! 😍 The food is beyond words!

I opted for the Combo box meal, featuring Jerk Steak, Lamb Chops with Traditional Rice and Peas, and Jerk Mash. 🍖🍚 The steak was an explosion of flavor, and the portion size was more than generous. The Lamb Chops were cooked to perfection, with just the right hint of pink and an abundance of succulent meat. And can we talk about the rice? It's been sprinkled with some kind of PIXI dust 😉 because it's incredible! 🍛 The Jerk Mash, smooth and creamy, with that unique jerk twist, is an absolute game-changer.

We couldn't resist trying the chicken strips, and they were equally fantastic! The chips were wonderfully crispy, and the jerk seasoning took them to a whole new level. 🔥

I've been wanting to try this place for a couple of weeks. In fact, I've been waiting for them to open for much longer.

We got the 4 meats and 4 sides. We got grilled chicken, fried chicken and two lots of steak. Sides included fries, sweet potato fries, mac n cheese and mash.

Mixed review really. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't think I'll be trying it again.

The food arrived on time, it was warm, not piping hot, but warm. I can cope with that. Food had been sweating in their containers for a while, that seriously compromised the quality of the food.

Crispy chicken was nice, grilled chicken was nice, steak nice in most parts, but could have been cooked less. Sweet potato fries were average, mash was nice, mac n cheese was too overcooked, fries were really undercooked, soggy and droopy. Jerk sauce was nice.

Portion size is debatable. On a good day I could have eaten the lot, but today me and the wife ate it.

I just wasn't blown away with this. I imagine food quality would have been better if served fresh, dining in.

A massive point down for shoving most of it in a pizza box. Mash and pasta side by side, no thanks.

Placed an order but this had been transferred to a shop closer to me. After an hour I called the shop to ensure they had received this due to ordering on Warrington eats which I haven’t used before. The shop kindly explained the above and I called the Second shop. But my call disconnected and I then received a cancellation email. I called the Warrington shop back who kindly got in touch with the relevant shop and advised me it was with the driver and he was going to call. At the same time I had a call come in from the driver, he was apologetic for the delay as they had been very busy, which is very understandable. He explained that due to it being transferred they had to do something with their systems which enabled a cancellation but apologised again. 10 minutes later the food was at my door piping hot and great quality.
