Quiet little whether spoons, come here quite often and it's never too busy or crowded. Most of my visits are to get a bite to eat, so I will be focusing on that element. The nine arches have a food menu, common to most pubs, burgers, steaks, breakfasts. They do healthier options, such as jacket potatoes and salads. Food allergies and intolerances are clearly marked on the menu Most meals come with a drink option, extra if it's alcohol. They also have themed/club days where they offer discounts on specific meals, depending on the day. Ordering is like most other places theses days, direct from the bar or using the whetherspoons app. Today we tried the app. It was very straight forward, order from a menu, select your table and pay, but you must sign up/create an account first. On today's visit, we ordered two breakfast wraps via the app. The order went straight through, and service didn't take too long, around 10mins. Overall, yet a simple bite to eat, it was good, really hit the spot. Overall, other then parking, no real faults found. Staff were polite throughout the experience, environment was very warm and cosy, especially on a cold November morning. Not too busy or noisy. Good experience, our pit stop before we carried on for the rest with the rest of our day. Wi-fi is available. - family friendly

Update 11.3.25 It is still my top favourite restaurant. The nice staff, wonderful and relax environment, good food. I will have my breakfast at least once a week. Since my last review 4 months ago, it became my family breakfast restaurant as the small breakfast promotion attracted me. I nearly went there every weekend. However, the price of coffee free refill and the small breakfast increased, now I changed to go biweekly. (4 months ago).......... I had been several Whether spoon before and this is the best one I ever had. The toast is hot and crunchy. The food is served in hot and smell very good. The staff there are really nice. The recent small breakfast would be a considerate arrangement for those cannot finish a big one. However, hope that there would be one more coffee machine and we don’t need to wait so long. And chocolate dust would be refilled more often. Lastly, I always like to have fish and chips there. It tastes great. But the fish size may differ from time to time. 😁

Today was the 3rd time me and my family have visited the nine arches and wow the service was again outstanding, they couldnt do enough for us. the food took about 10 minutes from order to table.. they made sure we where happy with our food. The only issue we had was we ordered garlic bread with cheese and it came out without the cheese but because the staff was so attentive it was changed to a fresh garlic bread within minutes and an apology was given but we had no issue with what happened because it was rectified in minutes.. The manager running was absolutely lovely and the food was as always beautiful.

Wetherspoons - The Nine Arches in Newton le Willows 2nd April 2019 I went to Wetherspoons - The Nine Arches in Newton le Willows at 6pm on 2nd April 2019 for a family meal/birthday celebration. The experience was less than satisfactory however due to family pressure I did not complain at the time. So here is my belated complaint. In spite of having made a reservation the previous evening no tables were reserved and we had to split our group between different tables which had not been cleared or cleaned. Being Tuesday Steak Club day, three of our group ordered the mixed grill only to be told that it was not available. No explanation was given. I opted for the Managers special “Lamb Shank with mashed potatoes and root vegetables” at £5:99 as advertised on a leaflet on the table only to be told it was not available. No explanation was given. However on querying the matter I was told I could have it at the normal price of £10:10. I declined this offer and reluctantly opted for the 12 oz rump steak with a fried egg as an extra. Our eating utensils and meals were brought to the tables in reasonable time. However as five of our group were having steak meals and only two steak knives were brought to the table I went to get extra steak knives. A member of staff asked me what I wanted and I said “more steak knives please”. He said “I've already provided steak knives to your tables.” I said yes but we need some more. I eventually got them and returned to my group to commence dining. I soon discovered that the condiments had not been replenished and had to go searching other tables for basics such as salt and pepper. When I finally started to eat my meal I found that the egg was undercooked and runny on top, my tomato was uncooked, whilst tomatoes on other diners plates were grilled, and the rump steak was as tough as old leather boots. It was the toughest steak I have had in more than 50 years. The previous being at Flynn's steak bar in Liverpool in the 1960's. One other diner in our group had an undercooked egg and three other diners in our group received tough as old boots 12 oz rump steak. I question the source of the meat and which part of the cow...

Absolutely disgusted with the service provided by the waitress and manager. We asked why gravy was no longer available and the waitress replied that its been taken off the menu. We joked about bringing our own and that we would definitely be complaining about it on the reviews. After eating our meal, we went to the bar to order a new round to be told we had upset the waitress so we were declined our drinks order. It was absolutely disgraceful with the service we received and the ignorance from the waitress staff. Will not be returning to this pub again. The management are not capable of dealing with members of the public. We were never approached to ask if our food was satisfactory or if we were happy with the service. Disgraceful. Requested to speak with the manager, Michael, who was negative towards us and didnt even offer any form of an apology and then declined to speak further or even listen to us regarding our complaint. The young man who was also acting manager refused to give his name and was very arrogant and extremely rude towards us. His smug attitude as we were leaving is extremely disrespectful towards us as customers. We have been coming to this place since it opened and have never been treated this way at all. Extremely disappointed. Management needs full retraining and waitress staff need to know how to communicate with the general public. An official complaint will be made and taken further as we have been made to feel be-littled and wrong with...

Went here with my brother who is 17 and myself and my partner who are both 23. Sat down, ordered food, at no point were we told over 18s only past 9, there were no signs or anything. After food was ordered and started to be made, we were then asked for ID just to sit and eat, no alcohol was ordered. Told them my brother is 17, they said we needed to leave, told them we’d already ordered. Then they said we might be able to eat then leave, asked the manager who said no have to leave now can either box food (no mention of our drinks) or get refunded at the bar and told we should have checked rules online as they won’t let the branch have door staff, funny as no other eat in pub does this so why would we have thought to. Said would like a full refund, went to the bar, had to wait 5 minutes for someone to come to us. When refunded they told me it’ll take 3-5 working days, unacceptable since this could have been avoided. Not even offered a refund receipt, had to request this which also took ages to get. Manager was stood at the top of the bar the whole time staring us down with nasty looks and speaking to co workers. Never once approached us to offer apologies and explain. Very rude. Will not be returning here in future. Disgraceful service, nasty staff and a manager who sends her staff to do her dirty work while she watches...
