I’m writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the continued poor service I’ve experienced from your Hazel Grove branch. I ordered via Uber Eats, which I now realise was my first mistake, and unfortunately made a second mistake by ordering again from the same store — a store that consistently gets my order completely wrong.
This isn’t a case of minor errors; I’m talking about entirely incorrect items being packed, despite what is clearly printed on the receipt. I struggle to understand how someone can read the order slip and still place the wrong items in the bag. That goes beyond a training issue — it shows a lack of care or attention.
To add to the frustration, my order took 45 minutes to arrive. While I recognise that delivery delays fall under Uber’s responsibility, the food still arrived cold and, worse, incorrect. When I called the store to raise my concerns, I admit I was frustrated and didn’t express myself as calmly as I should have, but I was incredibly disappointed to be told nothing could be done and that I needed to go back through Uber Eats.
While photographing the items to support my claim, I discovered a long black hair in the chips — which is absolutely unacceptable. The meal was not only wrong and cold but also unhygienic.
Despite trying to escalate this with Uber for over an hour, I got nowhere. They claimed the order was correct because the receipt matched the order number — completely ignoring the fact that the actual items received were wrong. Where is the common sense?
I spend a significant amount of money with McDonald’s, particularly with this branch, and I feel completely let down. If someone can’t follow a basic instruction of matching an item to a receipt, then I seriously question the recruitment process. This isn’t a matter of training — even my five-year-old daughter could match a bag of food to a receipt properly.
I would like this issue escalated to the franchise owner or a senior McDonald’s representative. I am not happy, and I want this...
Read moreThis place is absolutely, eye wateringly incompetent, I get it, it’s fast food. The epitome of “you literally had one job” - More fool me for giving the benefit of the doubt over and over again - today took the biscuit. Literal comedy of errors. 🙃
Order 1 - drive in - bunch of items and a selects share box for £10 - check order at window, it was wrong, lad was helpful get home, open order - wrong - 6 chicken nuggets.
Order 2 - Uber eats - surely not - couple of happy meals and the same share box - missed it the first time, they’ll get it this time, it’s statistically unlikely they’ll make same mistake - my kingdom for a chicken strip. Check order at door - wrong - 6 cold chicken nuggets.
Uber eats driver - “that’s frustrating”- can’t get involved, only a denizen of sealed bags of wrongness. Compartments.
Literally out of the last 12 orders, this specific McDonald’s has screwed up 10. They seem to specialise in missing stuff you’ve ordered for the kids for a treat or putting a drink in the bag sideways. The literal Chef’s kiss of bad service, surely it’s got to be a social experiment, right? Right?
Why do I keep trying? - largely giving the kids a treat - these big algorithmic franchise corps are not only draining your data, farmers, your very life force, aquifers and local economies - their practiced indifference reminds me how even the simple pleasure of serving one another food can be made to feel like a total disappointment.
Time to get the rebranders in and start all over again. Remember when McDonalds was red and yellow not hipster olive? They tricked us didn’t they?

Read moreI recently visited (on 30-08-2024) the McDonald's drive-through at Hazel Grove, and the experience was far from satisfactory. After placing my order, I was stuck waiting for an unusually long time. The delay was frustrating, especially since I was expecting the delivery within an expected period of time.
Concerned about the wait around 35 minutes, I decided to go inside and inquire about the status of my order. Unfortunately, the female staff member I spoke to was indifferent and unhelpful. Rather than addressing my concerns or providing any explanation, she simply told me to wait in my car, showing no interest in resolving the issue.
To my surprise i noticed that the many cars arrived in the drive through after 35 minutes of my waiting were receiving the package and leaving the premises. I just wanted the Mc D to know how frustrating it was to wait without being treated fairly, and approached a male staff who was outside the store handing over the food in the cars. He listened to me patiently and got my order.
It is to be noticed that i received my food after 50 minutes of waiting in the car.
I understand that sometimes things can get busy, but the lack of communication and poor customer service made the situation worse. McDonald's needs to improve both the efficiency of their drive-through and the attitude of their staff if they want to retain loyal customers. This experience left me disappointed, and I'm hesitant to return to this location...
