In a wheelchair, it is not a good place to get served, just ignored, cannot hear yourself think, drinks are average, glasses are hit-and-miss as to whether you get a clean glass or not. Customers are friendly but it is cramped and difficult to move around. The air is stale but everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. It is a good place to meet up but not on Foodie Friday; It is rammed and it is a fight to get in, to the bar and no assistance to carry your drinks to your table, as my hands are for propelling and steering my wheelchair. I would go here again, just to watch it improve but if they want the 'handicapped pounds' they're going to have to adapt the place. Need the toilet, it is off the stone market hall, if it is open and the ramp is not blocked off! My group of friend's able-bodied are loyal to me and if places want our custom, they're going to have to buck up their ideas pretty quick. If you are in a wheelchair, the coffee shops are not accessible so, it is in the pubs best interests to adapt. Go to Wetherspoons down Petersgate and the disabled toilet is always blocked off with tables/chairs. Their clientele are an ignorant bunch too.
I grew up in the Market Place before I was disabled, yet now feel somewhat excluded. Service counters may as well be on the Moon, they're that unreachable. Bakers Vaults is becoming slowly less of a...

Read moreThe best pub in Stockport (well apart from The Magnet and The Angel, but all equally as good).
The bar staff are all amazing and sexy, especially Luke as he's like the a bit of eye candy and reminds me of an older version of Jake Gyllenhaal with sexier dance moves (their not as hot as Ell's from The Angel though!).
Oh, and Andy's alright too.
The cider is almost second to none, but I did like South West Orchard that they used to sell in Remedy Bar.
Ahh, Remedy Bar! How I miss that place, before it turned into that awful place called Dr Feelbad's.
Anyway, back to my review.
I've given this place 5 stars and I would have given it 5+, but I'm still really unhappy about learning that the log burner in The Angel is only for show! I mean, who does that?!
Apart from THAT fake log burner (which is in another pub), amazingly great and...
