I recently hosted my 21st birthday party at Trunk and would highly recommend this venue for events like this.
Louise and the team were very accommodating and did everything in their power to ensure that things ran smoothly on the night. Numerous times before the event, Louise met up with me at the restaurant to plan the evening and discuss different aspects of the party. She was always available on the other end of the phone if I had any questions.
Before the party, we were able to set up in plenty of time and decorate the restaurant as we wished. Due to the open yet diverse layout of Trunk, we were able to have live music (a band), a dance floor, welcome drinks, a buffet and seating, all in different areas. Trunk offered a range of welcome drinks to suit all guests and a large spread of delicious tapas dishes, all of which went down a treat.
Throughout the evening, guests were able to get drinks at the bar, which offered all sorts to suit everyone. The bartenders were efficient, friendly and made a range of fantastic cocktails for many. Meanwhile, the rest of the team ensured that everywhere was kept tidy and glasses/plates were cleared.
I would like to thank Louise and the team at Trunk for making my 21st birthday party a success, and for all of their hard work and organisation. I would urge anybody to consider this venue for events and parties, along with its...
Read moreStarted well. Seven for dinner, booked in advance. Nice friendly greetings and shown to our table. Drinks ordered, g&ts, cocktails but no ales or bitter beer for me. Had to have lager (####). Menu has a great variety so we ordered an array of dishes for sharing. The food came fairly quickly, was hot and delicious! I ordered another lager - chatting with the bar girl l said it was bad that they didn't have any bitter beers or ales. She went away for a moment and returned with TWO bottled ales - bad information from one server but good from another. We'd finished our meals and waited for the table to be cleared. The place was busy but we waited and waited; we'd brought a birthday cake (89 years) and asked for the table to be cleared so we could have the cake. And asked again. And asked again (not so nicely this time). The table was cleared with much apology but the evening had been spoiled. We ate our cake, got the bill (over£200) and left muttering about the excellent food but the poor service. It was busy and there were a number of "casual" staff who perhaps were a bit overwhelmed. But the fact is our family evening to celebrate an old man's birthday had been spoiled by poor service. The food is great but I would only recommend going on a quiet evening when perhaps the service might...
Read moreAbsolutely love Trunk - has to be my favourite place to dine out in the local area.
It's a gem with laid-back vibes and always a treat.
The atmosphere at Trunk is relaxed and inviting, the perfect spot for a casual meal or a leisurely brunch with friends.
The menu is a lovely mix of Mediterranean tapas delights, and more substantial bistro style dishes. Whether you're craving a hearty burger or something more adventurous, Trunk has got you covered.
On my recent visit, I had an awesome combo of ham croquettes (yum), chorizo in honey BBQ sauce, and a spicy bean dish - all delicious. And the house red is pretty damn quaffable too.
But the real star of the show? The staff. Friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile, they make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. Whether you need a recommendation or just want to chat about the menu, they're there to make sure your dining experience is nothing short of fantastic.
If you're looking for a laid-back eatery with killer food and even better vibes, look no further than Trunk. Trust me, once you discover this little gem, you'll be coming back for more again and again.
Oh and the Easter bunny...
