There are some magical places outside of the main street of a big city where you accidentally bump and leave delighted. There are restaurants serve you not only great food but also cultural experience. Rozafa in Stockport meets both mentioned criteria. Living in Manchester i was just dropping my car at the garage in Stockport and decided to grab something to eat to avoid traffic. Tony, the places owner greeted me and my wife and kept us entertained while we waited for the food. It arrived promptly and was simply the best Greek I had in England. All eaten in relaxed atmosphere, in a very nice and tidy place with a very good music selection. The only complaint I have is that the portions were too big to handle and that it's too far from us ;) I normally don't bother with reviews but at least in this way I can say...

Wouldn't return. Service was odd and the older waiter (assuming owner/manager) came over to our table chewing food and speaking with his mouth full.

Food was bang average. Extortionate prices - way overpriced.

The main issue for me is the compulsory service charge. Although highlighted clearly on the menu, I'm of the understanding that not all service charge received by this business are distributed fairly to the staff as per the new UK Tipping Law (based on a comment made by the server/manager/owner??), and this business is using the compulsory service charge to boost their revenue.

Regardless - I'd suggest that this restaurant would be way busier at prime time on a Saturday eve if they reviewed their prices, worked on their service and gave some proper...

Having seen mixed reviews, I was unsure what to expect. I ordered the slow cooked lamb (Rosto) and it was amazing. Possible the best I have ever had. It is so refreshing to have honest, flavoursome food that doesn’t cost a fortune. The waiter was welcoming and efficient. Prices were extremely reasonable, given the exceptionally high quality of food. Decor was basic, so if you’re looking for a trendy place where fancy decor is more important than quality of food, this is not the place for you. Service is 10% - I don’t know why this is such an issue for other reviewers, it’s clearly marked on the menu and overall is still excellent value. As a business traveller, it makes it easy to have everything on the bill as I...

We just love this restaurant. Walking on the street you barely notice it; going up the stairs you wonder if you ended up to some relative’s house. The atmosphere is very relaxed and familiar. The menu is quite vast (which can be a good or a bad thing). I have tasted different course and they’re always delicious. Last time I had hummus with red peppers and naan bread as a started and chicken in white sauce with potato wedges as a main (sorry but I can’t spell the correct Greek names). Choosing what to eat it’s really hard! The staff is lovely and talkative. And I can’t finish the meal without a refreshing glass of Ouzo!

Discovered this little Greek tavern during the business trip to Stockport; it's about 6 min walk from the Stockport train station. It has a cosy atmosphere and very attentive service from Tony. Lunch is a great value for money £7 for a starter and main course. The portions are big. We had a greek salad and feta zesti served with a warm pitta bread as a starter and chicken kebab and briam as a main course. Their evening a la carte menu looks great so would like to come back to try that.

This is our favourite place to eat, it was a bit quieter tonight luckily as we didn't book a table, the food was excellent tonight always been good but tonight was amazing, we had the vine leaves and mixed sausage starters, main course of sea bass and the lamb shoulder, both were beautiful cooked to perfection, will definitely be going back again to try some other options on the menu.
