Burslem is a town that frustrates me, it's architecture is grand and beautiful and the place is full of history. The people that come from this forgotten town achieve great things. It's a place where creatives could go and thrive.
The Market Place Cafe somes up everything you need to know about Burslem. It's warm, it's honest and it feels like a home from home. The lady serving us in there could not have been more lovely. The food was homely and it was ridiculously cheap.
I hope that this lovely spot continues to feed the great people from this town and that Burslem get's the future...

Extra seating in the back with comfy seating, can get rather cold back there in the winter though so make sure you have a coat. Very affordable food, simple offerings but tasty. Read moreI (and hundreds of other Motörhead fans) was in town for the unveiling of the Lemmy statue. The Market Place Cafe was the nearest cafe, so i popped in. It's bigger than it first looks, there;s another seating area in the back. The staff were run of their feet but their smiles and pleasant manner never faltered. I had a chicken salad sandwich and cup of tea, which was brilliant - fresh and tasty.
