As a customer and as an uber driver i give smash on trent 5/5 for deliveries and a 4.5/5 for food and 5/5 for customer service/hygiene.
From a drivers perspective: Ive done deliveries for all the major food establishments in stoke on trent, typically the big ones without mentioning names. Based on the volume of deliveries these guys have, they are hats off the most time efficient, as in they get their deliveries out at a very fast rate compared to others. I've been at restaurants who have atleast 12-14 staff minimum in the kitchen and even on quiet days they take an average 15mins where as smash on trent 9/10 times they will have the delivery with the driver within 3mins flat, however on rare occasions they can take upto 15-20 mins maximum and that is only when they are flat off their feet working as fast as they can to get the deliveries out and getting food out for collection and eat in customers whilst maintaining the standard of food taste.
As for the food its without a doubt one of the best in stoke on trent, infact the best when it comes to burgers (especially their chicken burger) ive yet to taste a more tastier one in stoke on trent. However i believe their sauce game is a little weak, could do with a different option with chips, in all fairness this is the case with many small/medium food establishments all across stoke on trent.
Ive noticed alot of fake reviews posted lately by a disgruntled driver and i felt its only right to leave a genuine review, smash on trent has not asked me to leave a review ever, this is a 100% genuine review from a true foodie.
As for the staff. Ive yet to see a better team in stoke on trent in a kitchen, the guys and girls are proper in sync with each other, they always working their socks off, sound as a pound with all drivers not just myself. Great vibes all the time. Well done and thank you for bringing some...
Read moreSo I've recently moved to the City and I've heard Smashontrent was the place to go for good burgers. So the first night we ordered burgers, yeah the food was great, cannot complain. So afew weeks later we attempt to order again. I wait till 5pm as they don't open till then and for some reason on a Saturday (the busiest day of the week for food), it won't let me place an order. I phone up multiple times, I check Facebook no posts. I go on their website (there's no details) I even message them on multiple platforms. Yet I get no responce (they read the messages mind). So I was alittle disappointed, but I thought I'd give them another shot after finding out from local sources they were attending a wedding. 2 weeks go by and I thought you know what I'll try them again. See if they can redeem the loss of info on the last attempt. I wait till 5pm again. But low and behold.... I cannot place an order again. So I yet again phone, no responce. I check social media there is no posts to say they are closed. I waste another 20minutes before my partner checks their Instagram and has to watch all the stories to find out the last one (posted an hour before opening time). Says they are closed today for kitchen maintenance. I'm sorry but unless you even use Instagram daily you wouldn't look at these. You'd look for a post on Facebook or Instagram saying closed. Even more though why are you closed on the busiest day of the week again. At this point it's a shame to say but I am probably done trying to order from there again. We enjoy good burgers but the lack of customer service is a big kick in the gonads. In the end I went somewhere else who had great...
Read moreEASILY the best burger in Stoke. Everything about the food shows that the team really care about the product, presentation and experience. A beautifully composed burger with tender meat that's pressed thin but isn't overworked, just the right amount of salad, sweet pickles that are way less vinegar-y than most, a really nice mustardy sauce and a bun that can hold up to it all without turning to mush.
Packaging is beautiful too - burger is in a solid, protective box that unfolds like a super fancy present, and the burger itself is wrapped in stiff, printed foil. It's costing them a lot more to do it this way rather than your standard orange polystyrene but it makes the food feel special and like someone has actually cared abut the condition it arrives in.
Mac and cheese bites are fantastic too, a little hint of mature cheddar a smooth throughout. Leagues above the quality I'm used to. Don't know what the dip is with them but that's perfect too. Gave the store a ring to let them know they nailed it and they all sounded absolutely lovely too! Prices are VERY reasonable for the quality, and cheaper than a lot of chain places that turn out food of lesser...
