Marco: Italian Delicatessen — Restaurant in Stratford-on-Avon

Really loved this gem of a place. We popped in for a coffee and to take a break from the hustle and bustle. The deli is small but has about 10 tables inside and 3 outside if you want to sit out and watch the world go by, and in the 45 minutes we were in there, all tables filled up with a little community of chatty, friendly people. It never felt full or loud though, just a really happy atmosphere. The Italian man behind the counter was friendly and the staff were polite, helpful and full of smiles. I had a fantastic macchiato and my son had a lemon tea which got him notalgic as it was the same brand, Italian writing and all, that he drank in Italy when we last went. The cafe part had delicious cakes, sandwiches and of course the excellent coffee and I was genuinely surprised (literally asked to check) at how reasonably priced the coffee was. An excellent cup for about half what I'd been paying just up the street. The shop was also a working deli, with fresh meats in the counter, baked goods on the top and all sorts of genuine Italian foods, including pastas and sauces. A lovely gem of a place, definitely...

The Lasagna home made is worth trying; homemade taste heats up well too. I wish it would open a take away or delivery service and do pizza on the ready cooked food. Only con I bought some coffee cakes and some wern't day 1 fresh but not bad; but not 100% sellable full price but OK. Everything in the shop, mostly, is not available at Tesco. If you want authentic go here. Best coffee in town. Stop buying yankie or hipster coffee.This is the best. The family know how to do it, theyhave been doing it for years. The very best!!!! Delightful in every way. Great; coffee, breakfast, service and happiness 😊. Marco's is an absolute gem. Old school and great value. It's; calm, sublime and so very nice. A great independent place to unwind, enjoy lovely service and great food at very reasonable prices.
