What a find!!!! Walking along Sheep Street to find a restaurant to eat after our long journey. Noticed restaurants offering fixed price menus at reasonable prices as pre theatre menu. We walked into this quaint beamed restaurant and were seated and welcomed. A little cool due to the breeze blowing in from the street but a lovely glass of Chardonnay golden in a sparkling glass sorted that. My husband praised his glass of Shiraz room temperature, deep flavoured and rounded. We selected our food meat balls in a rich tomato sauce, spicy and flavoursome and piping hot. My husband had Mexican chicken with salad for main course which had succulent moist chicken well cooked and I had roasted root veg with a crispy skinned sea bass fillet beautifully cooked and presented. Our dessert we chose a tiramasu quite adequate in flavour though without the depth of alcohol and coffee we are accustomed too. The meal cost £21.50 each for three courses. Great value, great tasty well cooked food and pleasant hospitable service. Thank...

Perhaps because I ordered the special, the restaurant seems poor to me, but it failed to meet the expectations the reviews made it. The dish's name escapes me; however, the attached image illustrates its apparent Mexican influence. The selected fish did not complement the sauce, which was too light. To be honest, the dish overall had a bad combination that left me feeling nauseous afterward. The Pros were the service and the ambiance. I found the service to be satisfactory in relation to the price. The atmosphere at Opposition was charming; I particularly appreciated the homey feel. In general, I am unable to endorse this establishment as a result of the...
Read moreThere's a bewildering number of places to eat in Stratford and admit that we chose this one at random. However- it turned out to be an excellent choice. We had the two course set menu for £17.00 each. My wife had the buttered chicken with sweet potato chips followed by a pannacotta which she really enjoyed. I had the sea bream which came with somewhat odd selection of vegetables (chick peas, courgettes, tomatoes, asparagus, etc) which turned out to be a very carefully chosen and perfect accompaniment to the fish. Totally delicious. Service was promt and friendly and the restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere. For a random choice I think we...
