Chester's Lounge Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Sunderland

Apparently it’s not the first time, Chester’s lounge have stolen San Marino’s custom, Got to this restaurant on Valentine’s Day thinking it was the restaurant that use to be in the same spot(san Marino) instead of signposting me to the right place or giving me the informed choice, the waiters about 2 of them confirmed they had my booking on their system, sat us down, I asked if it was San Marino? I verified twice because I was surprised it was an Indian restaurant. because I had been before, they said it was San Marino’s, but they bought it over, in hind sight, I think they added that info because I kept asking to make sure they had my booking and was at the right place. Since they confirmed my booking we just dined, I didn’t realise San Marino moved location. they knowingly stole a customer and I ended up getting charged £20 for not showing up at the restaurant I was supposed to be at. First visit and a great first impression. Greeted and seated within seconds. Very friendly staff. Beautiful clean decor and environment. Ordered mixed kebab starters which were beautiful and the yoghurt sauce delicious, a bigger pot of sauce would have been good. Meat cooked to perfection and the bhaji was spot on. Main courses were chicken Bhuna (usually my favourite) but unfortunately i found it lacking in flavour. My son ordered chicken tikka masala and it was gorgeous. Very tasty, good portions and meat beautiful. Pilau rice was spot on. My son ordered creamy garlic chips and he said they were best chips he ever had! Exactly as described . Creamy and garlic. I ordered garlic keema nan. Wow! Best nan bread I have had. Keema was like a burger 😃.

We (2 persons) went to enjoy the Sunderland Restaurant week ( we went to other 2 restaurants within this week) and everything was good) however, this restaurant one of the list, and when we started to order they mentioned that many orders are not included in the offer , so we ordered from specific page only ( 1 starter and 1 main + rice + drink for 15 pound) after we placed that order from the specific area, another waiter came ( not the one who took the order) and said that we MUST Order 2 orders and they DO NOT allow 2 persons to share one order !!!! Therefore, they will not allow both of us eating from the same order!!!!!!

I told him .. well, the number of orders is up to the customers and he has no thing to do with that and this just a meal not an exam !!!!!!

So We left the restaurant… very bad experience.. they have to be honest that they are not joining the other restaurants of Sunderland...
