In my book average, expected, normal or whatever you call mediocrity is three stars, not as in most reviews five. I rarely give five.

Spacious tastefully decorated interior. Music is low, as it should be. Staff are fine. Tables are clean, not something that we can take for granted in our travels.

A good selection of interesting food. If you want big chunks of meat in over rich sauces, soggy veg served with chips don't come here. The emphasis here is on fresh veg, healthier choices, varied flavours and textures and nice breads. Don't get me wrong there is meat in most dishes, it's just not the sole attraction as in most restaurants.

If you've read my other reviews you'll know when it comes to coffee I take no prisoners. Six's icing on the cake, very good black americano. That is sadly such a...

Went in for food at 4.45 to be told no food on so went elsewhere. Went back later for a drink. They advised us they had a private event so could we sit to the right of the restaurant. No problem, not once told to leave by a certain time. Just two of us catching up. Young staff member came over and told us to be quiet!! Said we’ve a private event in could you whisper! We decided to leave and requested the bill. I decided to say as paying customers that it was a little rude to ask us to be quiet. She said we could sit outside but we didn’t want to. Said next time you have a private event I suggest you close (I have since seen opening times on a Wednesday are until 6 so why they let us in I have no idea). Young girl was...

I wrestled with myself before leaving this review, but had to be done. We went to Six after making a prior reservation for dinner. We ordered drinks and appetisers and the food was lovely, the service decent. Soon, while trying to order the mains, we were told the kitchen had closed and no food was available! We were quite shocked as not once we were told about this, while we were ordering the drinks, the appetisers and even when we asked for the menu! Long story short, we ended up missing ordering our mains by 10 mins due to sheer indifference from staff. They also forgot to deduct the advance payment for reservation from our bill and there was a bit of back n forth to get that sorted. Definitely won’t be...

A must visit if you haven’t already been. Beautiful food with a gorgeous view. The cocktails are amazing (and strong!) also. The Thursday tapas and Friday Mexican night is great value for money and you must get get the slow cooked steak chilli, unreal! They also do themed nights complete with saxophonist. The staff are very attentive and friendly even when rushed off their feet. A welcome and must needed addition to our thriving sea front.

Lovely interior, extensive menu, staff is very friendly. Food was okay, but for the price I would expect it to be a bit more fresh. Vegetables were a bit sad and everything on the seafood platter was cold. Backed brie was from Morrisons and the food generally felt like it was bought from the local supermarket rather than sourced and cooked. Staff also don't know their wines.

So glad we finally have a place like this down roker seafront. I've visited a couple of times and loved the food both times. I'm yet to tackle the fish board which looks huge. Great quality cheeses and fish to suit my dietary requirements. Staff very friendly too and go out of their way to help. Can't wait to visit again ❤️ added a few pics from both visits.
