The Hideout Coffee House — Restaurant in Sunderland

This is always out goto place on our seafront walks. The coffee is always freshly made using their own blend of coffee beans and as we drink decaf it’s also very tasty which on a lot of the other places we’ve used on the seafront it either tastes like weak gravy or just like hot water. There is also a good selection of lovely cakes, scones and sandwiches and some specials. Everything we’ve had is so good and tasty. Then there’s the staff and they’re always friendly even when they are regularly rushed off their feet!...

We stopped for a coffee after playing on Roker beach. Was pleasantly surprised to find that lunch is on offer, not just cakes. Highly recommend the salmon & cream cheese bagels. It arrived with green leaves and a balsamic dressing ~ bliss. My daughter wanted a sandwich that wasn't on the menu and that was fine. The cakes and scones looked great.

My first visit and won't be the last, amazing little gem of a place. The food and drinks are superb, but the service is fantastic. My hubby managed to knock his drink flying and despite being busy, they helped me clean it all up properly and sorted him another drink out straight away.
