Great pub with something for everyone. A very large selection of bottled and draft beers, ciders and stouts as well as extensive gins and malt whiskies. Regularly changes real ale and beers on keg from local, and not so local, breweries as well. Traditional wood panelling and ornamental detail give the pub a very homely and cosy ambience. The building itself is large and quite grand with a main bar area, a large snug and rooms upstairs for events. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the products, happy to offer advice and answer any questions. Now has a rear courtyard area with additional seating, to supplement the small, partially covered roof terrace for smokers. Read moreA great traditional, old-fashioned pub that serves an excellent selection of ales and a simple, but excellent menu. The staff are always extremely busy, but remain professional and polite. There was a great selection of drinks to choose from at the bar.
The staff member told us about the different room upstairs which we had a look in, and we started off outside in the little beer garden but then went into a lovely little room afterwards. The food looked lovely but we didn't eat here so can't make any comments.
Chatted to a few people in the beer garden that were also heading to the concert. It is in a great location to visit when booking event parking at Riverside car park before heading to...
