Frankie & Benny's — Restaurant in Tameside

My recent visit to the Ashton Moss branch of Frankie & Benny's left me deeply disappointed. I had chosen this venue for a significant gathering with my sister and her children, in remembrance of our father's passing. However, it turned out to be an underwhelming experience.

The children's meals were dry and soggy, falling short of our expectations, it looked as though the nuggets and chips were refried a few times. The vegan jackfruit dish I ordered lacked flavor and was unappetizing. Despite my attempts to consume it without causing a scene, the food made me feel physically unwell. My nephew has also been throwing up since the night of the meal, despite only eating the chips, coincidence?

When I raised my concerns with a staff member, I was ignored until I persisted. The manager's attitude was unwelcoming and rude. She dismissed our concerns and refused to offer any resolution. She treated us as though we were trying to blag a free meal, I wouldn’t eat this rubbish if somebody paid me.

I calmly explained the issues and requested that our plates be taken away without charges. The manager declined our reasonable requests, even threatening involvement of the police if we didn't pay for the minimal food we consumed. Despite leaving our starters unfinished and not receiving desserts, we were billed for everything.

I expect the management to address the manager's conduct and ensure exceptional customer service. Such behavior is unprofessional and should not be tolerated. In conclusion, I won't be returning to Frankie & Benny's and will be filing a chargeback with my bank. The disappointing experience and lack of resolution leave me with no recommendation for this...

Simply disgusting. Service was disgraceful food was disgusting price was a joke! Arrived and was left standing in the door way for 5 minutes while there was free tables to be sat at. Order drinks and was told there was no draft soft drinks due to supply issues but settled for cans of soft drink which didn't even fill and small glass which they had filled with ice to make it look like there was more drink being charged out at £2.99 FOR A CAN OF POP THST DIDN'T FILL A GLASS!!!!!! on to the food. There was a couple of us. 1 had a veggie burger said it was nice put chips where cold. 1 had pizza once again said it was nice but omg how much oil! She had to hold a slice up to let the oil drain on the pizza. My misses has bbq chicken which she said was tasteless. My self I had a mixed grill sounded amazing on paper. Turns out not so much. Pros first. Ribs where lovely are well cooked and tasty but that could have been the mass coating of bbq sauce. Chicken wings where nice not much meat on them though. Chicken fillet rubbery dry and tasteless. The steak omg the steak I could have cryed! Med rare I asked for. And one half of the steak was rare one side was welldone I don't understand how they managed to cook one side of a steak longer then the other but they managed it. Tasting the steak I honslty thought they had served me a chew toy! Iv fed my dog better steak then the so call rump steak they served me more like braising or stewing steak. Totally ridiculous what a waste on £70 will never ever ever ever be...

We got there about 5pm on friday 20th december 2019 and the restaurant was very quiet. We were shown to our seats.

Shortly after being seated, the friendly waitress took our drinks orders which arrived promptly before taking our food order.

The service went downhill from there!

My food arrived last, and although i don't feel it took a particularly long time, it felt longer because others on our table had received (and almost finished) their food by the time i received mine. I think they just bring out the food as its cooked rather than all together like most other restaurants.

Whilst eating nobody came over to ask if everything was ok with our meals or take a drinks order. The food was ok, but I was dying for a drink! The next drinks order was taken when we finished our main course.

We then ordered desserts and again the service was terrible. 5 of our table ordered desserts and 2 of us hadn't received our desserts by the time the other 3 had finished theirs. Worryingly, I could see on the counter what looked like a new york sundae sat there alone for ages being ignored. I chased up my mine and my brothers missing order which then arrived promptly. My new york sundae was now a milkshake.

We promptly ate our deserts before settling the bill and leaving.

This is the first time I've been to frankie and benny's in a long time and although the food was ok, the service was terrible. There is just too much competition out there for restaurants that i don't feel the...
