That's it I give up. Visited Nandos to celebrate a family birthday. After walking in and being asked to seat five adults and two kids around a tiny table I asked if they had anything larger as we were shoulder to shoulder. It took about half an hour but eventually we were moved. Then the ordering saga began.... First you must scan a QR code which takes you to a web site. Then you must register by submitting personal details. Then you are taken to the menu. To be honest I had already started losing interest by this time. I wanted something to eat not a session playing on my phone. I'm sure this all sounded terribly trendy in a London marketing office but give me a menu and a waitress any day. I sort of fancied the half chicken meal (Hobson's choice on a menu with nothing but chicken) which is shown with bowls of stuff on the plate. I asked my daughter what was in the bowls in the photos. "Potatoes and peas" she replied, squinting at the tiny thumbnail images on my phone.. Good enough for me I thought so I added it to my basket. Everyone then took it in turns on my phone to browse meals. 25 minutes later (because of this bizarre method of ordering as opposed to normal menus) we paid online and waited for the meal. Mine arrived. It was just half a chicken. That was it. Nothing else at all. I asked about the sides that were on the plate in thexpucture. They're extras I was told. I was crushed at the thought of logging on yet again , paying again, waiting again...while my lonely little half chicken went cold. The waitress was very helpful to be fair and brought over a card machine and said she'd sort it out. The card was declined. Tried again. Declined again. Daughter tried hers. Declined. Apparently they were now having transaction problems. My wife went to the bar with cash and paid. Hooray! I was to be treated to a small bowl of mash and some peas for £5.90 ...15 minutes later......yep...nothing... no sides. Out of frustration I just sat and ate my now cold half chicken and stole a couple of other people's chips. So my wonderful evening with family was basically half a cold chicken and a glass of machine made cola. I could have eaten better out of my fridge. I should have known what I was about to experience when I looked around and realised I couldn't see anyone over 30 and that the words 'bro' and 'dude' were being used liberally on tables near us It's more like a college canteen than a restaurant. I've come to the conclusion that, unless you want dire service like this with frozen chips, kiddy colas and basically fast food, you're going to have to cough up fifty quid a head to go to a proper restaurant. I had an equally poor experience in one of the other food outlets near Nandos so I assume this is a sad trend in UK cooked food establishments. I think this sort of place is just fine and dandy for a teenager with a spare tenner who likes saying 'yummy' on reviews but I won't be wasting my time or money here again. How difficult is it to run an eatery that offers tasty, wholesome food at...
Read morevisited Nandos on 11/04 with my family for my mother’s birthday meal and family from wales and Portsmouth we’re down with us too to join us for their first nandos and the staff there are disgusting, the behaviour was appauling. When we first arrived we were greeted rudely by the staff member Beck. She spoke down to us and told us we are unable to be seated or served even though there was multiple empty tables and enough space, the manager Alex was then called over who again was very rude. He too said we can’t be seated but could if we was split into 3 groups which made no sense considering how many spaces were available. We were also told they close in an hour but were able to seat us at 9:30 which made no sense considering that was an hour after we had arrived. Beck was very condescending and rude and Alex was disgustingly rude. We then decided we will order take out. While order take out our cousin confused one of the members of staff with one of our family members saying ‘oh there he is , he’s just speaking to the manager’ and we said that’s not him he’s outside and we just laughed at how she got confused. We then got up to order and as we were in the queue Alex then came upto us and said we were being refused to be served and kicked out. We were very confused as we had not done anything and he had then accused us of pointing at staff members and laughing. This was disgusting as we would never ever do something like this. He would not let us speak and kept telling us we had to leave and get out and nothing was going to be done. I said how disgusting it was to be accused of laughing at staff members, what kind of people do you think we are. He did this in the middle of the restaurant for everyone to see making us feel humiliated and this is something I did not expect from nandos. He raised his voice and was very aggressive and patronising. As someone who is taller than me he enjoyed standing infront of me to show he was taller than me to intimidate me and this was very patronising and disgusting I felt the need to take a step back. The way I have been treated and spoke to was appalling. After this experience with nandos I will be telling friends family and posting about this on social media to make people aware of how Ashton Moss nandos treat people and how Nandos staff treat people. This was humiliating and disgusting and I feel embarrassed about this. This is my local nandos and this made me feel very under valued as a very loyal and regular customer. I would have never expected this from a manager or front of house staff. Absolutely disgusting. This experience has completely ruined my mothers birthday meal and you ruined her whole day. She left upset and honestly I left in tears after the way I was spoke to by...
Read morePopped to this Nando’s to fill up before a 2hr journey back home. We were promptly greeted and seated by a pleasant young lady whom clearly explained how to order by using the QR code on your table. I ordered two bottomless drinks, sweet potato wedges and a Boneless Platter, then we eagerly awaited for the food, and we waited and continued to wait, food was not forthcoming, many people had entered the restaurant after us, and were receiving their orders. I’d left it for nearly 30 minutes before I flagged down a waiter and asked her what’s happening with our food? She said she will find out. She promptly went over to the till to view the order, she was then joined by some other employees huddling over this till, looking a little confused. The lady came back to us after a few minutes to say that there had been a problem with the online ordering system, and a few orders hadn’t gone through as they had should, though we hadn’t noticed others having a long wait! There was an apology, though it seemed more of an embarrassed apology, we were told that it would be around another 15 minutes till we would get our food. What I was more annoyed about though is that we were sat there for nearly 30 minutes without food, and no one noticed this, I would have thought that someone would have come over and enquired as to why we had no food. Anyhow, the food arrived, served by a different lady, I thought there would be another apology then, but there wasn’t. Food was great, very filling and enjoyable. We then left, there was a couple of staff hanging around the exit, I thought we would get a “thank you for coming” or perhaps another apology, but unfortunately not. So basically if I was a local I would give this restaurant another chance, the food was good, and the staff were nice, but probably just need a little more training in certain aspects, and hopefully the problem with the order was...
