Great Chicken and Pizza House — Restaurant in Tendring

Me and my friends have been using this place for years but recently it has gone down hill. Our last order got delivered by some guy in the car full of giggly girls and guys. when we opened the boxes all the pizzas were damaged and squashed. As I said we loved this place so we decided to order again today. While ordering we was asked to call back to let them when they have been delivered. I confirmed that it would be no problem. After 1 hour and 20 minutes I called them back to say that we were still waiting for our pizza. The man said that he didnt do them, as I had called back 10 minutes after to tell him I wanted them for free? I told him that I had not called him back as If that was the case i would have said that in my last call. He again apologised and said Give me 30 minutes and I will get you your order. Great chicken has always been my go to for many years however what once was a delicious food stop has now lost its touch, over the last year every time I order it is worse every time, each time i justify saying “maybe it’s just a one time thing” however this time (7/8/25) it wasn’t just bad, it was genuinely inedible! I’ve eaten some rubbish food and not complained and I’m not really one to leave a negative review but my recent order of chicken was so awful I couldn’t help myself, as soon as I opened the box I was hit with this smell of farts, hoping it was only the box I took a wing out and sniffed it and almost threw up, the smell was so strong and so gross I’m genuinely baffled! Ordered pizza deal. 1 pizza had little topping was cold and soggy and the other tasted like day old dough was used it was dry and chewy. The chips were soggy & undercooked. On a plus side the garlic pizza bread was ok. Normally the food is good so don’t know what happened tonight but definitely The worst takeaway we have had from this establishment. Not sure we will...
