Reubys Salt Beef and Cheesecake Bar — Restaurant in Tendring

Utterly delicious food prepared by an hugely talented chef, front of house was run brilliantly. I cannot fault a single part of the dining experience.

Walking in to the restaurant took me back to my Nana’s kitchen in the 80’s. It was an instant sensation and it felt like home (well Nana’s!)

My wife and kids (sorry young adults) had eggs on toast which they said were cooked perfectly. Whist I had to have Reubys famous Salt Beef, cucumber and mustard on a Cholla Roll. I was not disappointed at all.

The Salt Beef was super tender, moist and flaked apart. It was so juicy I had to stop myself from wolfing it all down in minutes flat.

My son had a Raspberry Cheesecake for desert. It was a creamy, fresh, cheesecake with a crumbly, light biscuit base. Topped with fresh raspberries. It was a delight.

I ended-up buying a few (or more!) bits from the fridge and paid a more than reasonable price for the whole experience.

Summing up: Everyone needs to go here - end of. I have fond memories of the whole family sitting in the back of my Dad’s Cortina in the 80’s, noshing on Blooms Hot Salt Beef Bagels with Latkas, and Pickles… Reubys Hot Salt Beef Bagels are BETTER than Blooms....

My husband and I agree on few things in life, one thing being that if we found ourselves on Death Row, a Reuby's salt beef beigel would be our last meal of choice. We've never had a sandwich like it. We just ordered two for our lunch, and the 5 or so minutes we took to eat them were spent in perfect silence. We meditated over these sandwiches, they are that good! We genuinely feel these might be contenders for the best sandwich in the world award. The latkes we ordered alongside are a delicious alternative to a hash brown and we thank you for the, also very delicious, piece of cake you added to our order. I wish we had the funds and the waistlines to eat at yours every day. Thank you again for the amazing eats! P.S. Last time we ate in the restaurant and the atmosphere was excellent! Like a little friendly community that we were welcomed into...

By far, the best food in Clacton on Sea. Since moving to the new premises, with a bigger seating area, the atmosphere and everything about the restaurant are magnificent. Whether you live here or are just visiting the area, don't miss eating here. Whether you eat in or take away, or use just eat. Terrific cuisine. Lovely fun staff and owner. Cash or card accepted. The food and selection of fare gets better all the time. The cheesecake is to die for. It's the best you can get. Not to forget the salt beef bagels or sandwiches, or smoked salmon bagels. New item on the menu is a roast in a sub, whether it be chicken, salt beef or any other meat, with all the trimmings. Absolutely amazing. And it's ALL...
