Bella Vita — Restaurant in Test Valley

Having just walked through the rear door from the car park and into the restaurant area, I was greeted by a rude middle aged man on the phone, angrily waving his arms at me and in a loud and aggressive voice telling me I need to walk back out the door and around the front to the bar entrance as this is a restaurant. I told him not to worry as I wasn't going to be spoken to like that. He then realised he over reacted and told me it's ok and to just walk through to the bar. To be spoken to like that was highly insulting especially as the customers at the bar heard as well. I left the restaurant having not made the booking for 8 people I that I originally went in there for. I'll make a reservation elsewhere and make sure everyone knows why the venue has changed. By the way, his restaurant was empty when I walked in and it will remain that way if he continues to speak to customers like that. I have been to Bella Vita at least eight times since it opened last year. I have dined with colleagues during the day, friends and my husband during the evenings and each time I go, it has always been a brilliant experience. The food is superb and very well priced for such quality. The staff are always very welcoming and cater to all your needs, no matter if you are dining as a couple or as a group. I had my birthday meal here. I was not disappointed at any level. The service was friendly- right from when booking and being offered a wine taste to help me decide through to the night itself - a busy Saturday but it felt like I was the only party in town!! The food was served altogether even though we all chose different things. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and empty plates was all that was left!!
