Great tea shop. Tucked away down a side street, but is sign posted. Cash only, which I liked. Lovely atmosphere and all staff very welcoming and friendly. We have had the breakfast in the past, which was lovely. Today we popped in for a cream tea for two, excellent deal. However due to us arriving close to closing time and the tea shop due to close for 4 days for Easter they were unable to provide clotted cream as they were running down their stock. We ordered coffees still and were over whelmed when one of the owners brought us out two scones and a few cakes to take home as a gesture of good will ! So lovely and would not let us pay. This is a family run business and I honestly can't recommend this place enough....lovely lovely people, beautiful cakes and...
Read moreAwful- shocked at the amount of positive reviews on here. I came to this place for lunch thinking it would be a classic little tea shop. Well let me tell you, it was like the grotty cafe you see in Eastenders or Corrie! I ordered a sandwich expecting a delightful layout of food but no, what I received was 4 poorly cut sandwiches, literally 5 tortilla chips and a portion of manky salad. Everything had clearly just been tossed onto a plate without a care in the world, the laziness of the staff was extremely obvious! No effort whatsoever. The actual taste of the food itself was extremely poor, no flavour and all very dry. I think this cafe needs to be altered or even better, demolished! Can’t believe I wasted £8 here. Money...

Fast forward a few years and the sauce has been replaced with compote and fried food has given way to the fancy croissant and danish pastry. But wait, down a little lane, up some stairs and above a shop is That Little Tea Shop. Here you can get the fried breakfast aswell as traditional homemade food. Not only that but unlimited tea for £1! There's more, Bubble and squeek! No not cbeebies characters but a staple of British kitchens of yester-year. They probably have compote here, but it's hidden behind the might of red and...
