Sultan Review I have been dining at Sultan for nearly two years now. The food at the previous Indian restaurant I had been using in Andover was very standard and tasted somewhat tired and not particularly fresh. Then when Sultan opened in Andover, I decided to give it a try. I immediately noticed the difference in the food and quality. The Indian food at Sultan was very fresh and zesty tasting. In fact, my usual go to dishes when I tried them at Sultan were so exceptionally good and better than I have had from other Indian restaurants over the past 40 years. This made me curious about the rest of the Sultan menu. So, I decided to explore the entire Sultan menu over time. Now nearly two years later I have tried most of the starters and mains dishes on the Sultan menu and I have found all of them to be excellent in quality and taste. They are the very best Indian meals that I have ever had. The food at Sultan has been so good that I usually try and eat there at least once a week. Having tried most of the Sultan menu now, I can say that for me personally the standout dishes are: the Garlic Chili Chicken, the Salmon Jalfrezi, the Naga, the Ceylon, the Madras, the Vindaloo, and the Phall. But I have really enjoyed all the food here and I can honestly say that all the choices are of the highest standard. I must also mention their Tandoori Thali (Platter) which is a vast tray of starters and mains as a single meal, you get a lot of very lovely food for a single meal price, it is a great deal and more or less as much as most people would be able to eat. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and is very clean and modern. There is also a large carpark nearby with free parking during Sultan’s current opening times. Sultan and his staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and they are happy to add extra heat to dishes if you want something a bit hotter than standard. A very high-class restaurant for Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine. Easily the best Indian restaurant in Andover, and possibly one of the best in the country. I really do expect that Sultan will win national awards in the future. An absolutely standout...

As someone who works in the industry of hospitality, it is a pleasure to be served at such a high quality. Apon booking on the same day as visit (glad i did as was fully booked by arrival time!) Receiving a call about my notes on my allergen (being told it is a NUT FREE VENUE is a huge plus by myself ) to the service received is second to none I've had before. All servers are super attentive! The gentleman behind the bar who is able to upsell and clear glasses off the table is a breath of fresh air! The server recommendation to change my meal as the one I chose would potentially be "chewy" vs, his recommendation was so outstanding and also highly correct as the meal i received melted in my mouth and something I've never chosen. To be told to change my choice, I highly respected and never thought off as I've always put up up with slightly chewy meat/ what i expect from being a child always choosing the same thing...
But the biggest shout out is pleasing my partner who would rather a Chinese over Indian food any day (who I had to talk into going with my selection to try Sultans as I had heard such good things and who grew up in Indian style restaurants) who had been blow away by the flavour of food, service and flavours he was presented with and even said on route home would happily now become a regular... which is outstanding!!
Thank you to the team at Sultans. You made my celebration night one I will not forget, and we...
Read moreI don’t wanna leave an essay here but this is Saturday, 26 July 2025 my childhood friend and I have been to watch some incredible boxing at the Bournemouth Internation center. We expected to be seated around 8 o’clock and the time kept getting pushed back due to the boxing lasted longer than we expected. We finally arrive at five minutes before closing at 5 to 10 that evening. The boys were expecting us, but I knew we were late. We were greeted in a friendly and cordial manner treated like old customers, even though it was the first time there and the food was exceptional. I had a mixed grill to Dory, Keeno, Gobi and my meat had a Madras hot chicken tikka masala with special rice and a plain naan. The food was absolutely as described excellent service more than excellent in fact, a tentative and enjoyable like old friends I cannot recommend this Andover hidden gem enough. I definitely will return and so will my best mate. We needed a Centrepoint between two towns, and we look like we’ve now found an exceptional Medium. I cannot thank you guys enough for making us feel welcome and even though we put you out and catch you late you were generous with your time and the price was exceptional for what we had. This is a genuine five out of five Indian restaurant in Andover and I recommend everyone to give it a try. We will be back maybe next time not five minutes before closing thank you all so much for your time and...
