Balti Palace Tewkesbury — Restaurant in Tewkesbury

Having been a regular customer for years visiting in large groups. I felt confident I could order a collection via ‘Just Eat’ checked out as a guest after placing the order. But when I attempted to change the collection time on line it was impossible. Even after phoning the restaurant several times to check if they had the order both myself and my husband were told no order had been made and as I was on the phone did I want to re-order. I said no thank you I would get back to them. Later that evening I received a txt message saying my order was ready for collection- I attempted to respond to the txt but couldn’t - it was an unknown mobile phone number. Later again I got a phone call saying your order is ready. I tried to explain I had been told I had placed no order on several occasions earlier in the evening only to be told you ordered it food is made and it’s paid for. I requested a refund as I had been told there was no order only to be told this wasn’t going to happen and to speak with the card company I had paid for the order either. Extremely shocked at their response and would not recommend ordering as there is clearly a problem with their system and the lack of consideration- given we have been regular customers has demonstrated their lack of care for customers. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were treated with such warmth and care; genuine hospitality that’s all too rare these days.

The food? Out of this world. Rich, authentic flavours that took us straight to the heart of India – every bite was a celebration. The dishes were beautifully spiced, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with love and pride.

The surprise birthday treat for my wife was the cherry on top; thoughtful, joyful, and completely unexpected. It turned a lovely meal into something truly memorable.

This is by far my favourite place in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire and quite possibly the UK! I've ordered from here a couple of times and the food has always been incredible! But what makes this place so special is the staff, I went in late tonight as a very last minute plan to order a tale away and the guys working were just beyond helpful and just so lovely. When I got my food home I opened the bag and they had added me a poppadom on the house too. I LOVE this place and literally can't recommend it enough.
