I have not ever left a negative review for a restaurant. I try to leave lots of positive reviews and when we have a less than positive experience at a restaurant I just don't post a review. But I received a notification asking me to leave a review for Boba Tigers, so I am. Our family was visiting Margate for our kids' school break and everyone was in the mood for boba and sushi/poke bowls. We peeked inside the restaurant and were drawn to the really fun, pink, floral decor. Our family likes all cuisines of food, we've lived and traveled all around the world and we all have a pretty open mind about restaurants. But unfortunately we all agreed that this was the least enjoyable meal we'd had in recent memory. The person working behind the counter was very inattentive and unfriendly. He didn't really welcome us, just told us to find a table. And then we sat and sat, waiting for him to come take our order. Finally after about 10 minutes, when we made eye contact with him, he told us we could come to the counter to order. We feel like he could have told us this when we came in or just come and taken our order at the table. There was literally no one else in the restaurant that he was serving the entire time we were there.
I will just speak about the meal that I got-- a Strawberry Matcha Boba and a Chicken Katsu Salad. My boba was not layered like in the photo (green matcha, milk and pink strawberry), but instead all mixed together where it was a brown/green color. And the matcha powder was not dissolved properly and so it was incredibly pasty/grainy. It was the worst matcha I've ever had. The photo of the Chicken Katsu Salad showed avocado, tomato and a variety of veggies. Mine had some basic lettuce, chunks of raw carrot and chunks of raw broccoli. There was no dressing and it was bland. The rest of our family had other things (poke bowl, sushi, curry) and we all agreed that the food just wasn't good. Read moreTried to order the meal deal online to collect for £9.99 x 2 but there computer wasn’t working called and spoke to someone who was great on the phone but not Margate branch, ended up walking down there and it was dead and the manager was on the phone trying to sort the computer system out and left us standing there for ages whilst there was 3 chefs and 3 other members of staff and no one acknowledged us, when we finally got acknowledged we explained we tried to order online was told they would honour the online deal and new customer 25% so ordered and took a seat and waited, could not fault the food it was excellent, hot and tasty, they came and asked us to pay halfway through as they had there computer back up and running again but the bill was over £10.00 more than online, when questioned they said they don’t do the meal deal? Couldn’t be bothered to argue as all the staff although friendly were just standing around chatting, while sitting and eating we noticed the tables and chairs next to us had a lot of food slops on the chairs and dirty ring marks on the tables, not a good start, not hard to wipe down tables and chairs that are pvc, won’t look good in another couple of weeks if they can’t keep on top of it and it’s just newly opened, not like they was rushed...

Edited, had such god times in there previously and then I took someone new who hadn’t tried it, it was later in the day but the poke I always get had no rice like before and was missing ingredients and not how it had been every time the older guy works in there, the hot food ordered was cold and lacking in amount compared to what previous orders have been and the drink I specifically said no sugar, and previously was always correct, when I got home it was so over sweet I couldn’t drink. It was a woman and a younger guy than the normal one who’s working when we go on, I get it was late and they were probably lacking ingredients but just say that instead of continue the order as it was embarrassing for my guest and has now put us off returning, so been using yo sushi at Tesco instead which is a shame but it’s a lot of money to risk if it happens again and by the time I’d of walked back up to say something the place would’ve...
