Wow. We sat outside. I went inside and asked for a menu. The waitress came out and took our order. Shortly after she came and gave us water and then about fifteen minutes later as we were wondering where our food was, the waitress came out again and asked us “Um… what exactly is it you’re waiting for?” - to which I answered “the food…” (she looked blanked)… “that we ordered… from you?” We then realised it was getting cold outside and asked if we could come inside. Another waitress said that she didn’t normally like to change tables for people because she didn’t like to change it on the system and mess things up, but she’d forgive it because we had kids - honestly the place was not even half full and they were acting like we were the biggest inconvenience ever. I was hopeful that this would all be worth it when they eventually brought our food. A third, highly competent waitress came over and put it on our table, as we had seen the plates moving around with the other two waitresses from table to table not sure where it should go. Creta Restaurant in Broadstairs provides authentic Greek food, both delicious and at a reasonable price point. People can sit outside of the restaurant in a nice environment. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly and communicative.
At lunch time, Creta Restaurant offers special lunch deals. They include a Souvlaki or a wrap with different kind of meat, halloumni, or vegetables and either fries or rice for 6 Pounds. The restaurant also offers a vegan option of their meals.
The meals were served in a very timely manner and tasted fantastically. I highly appreciated that we were also provided free tap water in addition to the meal. Other beverages are also available, of course. Given this increndible value for money, we will...
Read moreSadly disappointed this evening. The restaurant looked busy so we thought we would give it a try. We had the vegetarian meze. The pittas and dips were lovely but the hot starters tasted deep fried and the haloumi was really overcooked. The main course tasted very nice but was completely overloaded with Spinach. So much so that it looked a bit like a pile of seaweed on the side of the dish. We like eating Spinach but this was far too much and we had to leave most of it. We did let them know and the very pleasant waiting staff seemed to listen. Before we left, the chef or manager came and spoke to some customers who seemed to have enjoyed their meals but didn't come and talk...
