Frankie & Benny's — Restaurant in Thanet

Well.... Usually we are very happy here, but this visit was extremely disappointing! Not sure if they've changed staff because of lockdown.. Then reopening?? But I didn't recognise anyone, they all seemed like they'd been given minimul training if any? We had booked the table, got seated, took 5-10 mins for anyone to take our order for drinks and food, Then waited a further 15minutes and ended up collect our drinks that were just sat on the bar, baring in mind there was someone behind the bar loading the dishwasher! Got the starters which were OK, loads of staff were standing talking and I could see lots of tables waiting to order and for their drinks etc, Finally our main came... From the only compitent lady there.. She did check if it was OK, but when we'd had enough, we asked what appeared to be the manager if we could get a Box for remaining pizza, she politely said yes of course then whent and chatted 15 mins later whilst we had clearly stopped eating several staff walked passed not asking if we had finished or checking if we wanted another drink, eventually had to ask the waitor to get a box and take our deserts order.... Which we didn't get, after half hour he asked if we had them?, then went to the serving hatch and appeared to only then give them our order, he did apologise and gave us the desert... One and half squares of brownie for nearly £5! Also should mention over a fiver for mozerella and tomato starter for 5small pieces of mozerella and about 6cherry tomatoes! Eventually we got our bill... An hour and 45 minutes later with a small baby is not acceptable, saw many more drinks sat on the bar waiting to go out whilst the girl stood there doing nothing, and none of the other staff appeared to be doing anything other than a lady cleaning, short bobbed hair, who did thank us when we left, she was sat at the bar doing knifes and forks etc, everyone else moving at minus 2miles an hour! No smiles nothing, We heard many people muttering and complaining and asking can we get some drinks, can we order our food etc, with the pandemic they should be aiming for a quick turn around?? , it's the first time in my life I have never given a tip as we were both so angry with the incompitece and the wait, we felt drained! Will not be going back for a very long time, and hope to see more trained staff when or if we do return!! So...

Arrived and there were 4 empty tables, all clear and set up but was told to wait at the bar. Didn't mind this as wanted a drink anyway. Another couple arrived and were seated straight away, thought maybe they had reservations but when 3 different members of staff started hugging then realised they were probably just regulars or friends. Seated at a table long after the 10 minutes they originally said, for some reason at a 4 person table when there was only 2 of us and there were 2 persons tables empty and parties of 4 waiting since we arrived. Ordered our food, I pointed to it in the menu, a pizza and my other half ordered a wrap, we both ordered chips and a side of garlic bread. Another couple were then seated next to us. Our food came out eventually but arrived was a burger and a wrap and the garlic bread, I informed them this was not our order. It was taken away. The waiter then returned asking me what I had ordered, I said I can't remember what it was called, a deep Pan pizza, he had a menu under his arm, I asked to look at the menu but he refused and told me no, you ordered a burger, I asked again to look at the menu so I could remember what it was called. He went away and said our food would be another 2 minutes and apologised. The couple next to us then got their food. Then are their food. Then paid and left. We still hadn't got our food. Our food came out. My other half's food had clearly been under a hot lamp as the chips were now getting hard, but he was starving and ate it anyway. My chips didn't come out till I asked for them. My pizza was so burnt I just picked off the toppings and ate those. Was never asked how our food was and nothing was mentioned about the fact I'd left half of it. All the staff seemed to scurry past our table so weren't able to alert someone to the problems.

Will not be returning...

Visited back in March and some food was cold, I have emailed Broadstairs 4 times but no response -

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to provide feedback about our recent visit on Thursday evening at 7pm table of 12 It was my nephews 16 birthday celebration meal and our family had gathered to celebrate this occasion.

Firstly I would like to commend the excellent service we received, our waitress was extremely helpful and attentive ensuring we had enough drinks throughout the evening and answered any questions we had about the menu, she also checked if any of us were gluten intolerant.

However I must express our disappointment with the temperature of several of the dishes, while my chicken & haloumi burger was delicious the fries which accompanied it as well as my sisters fries were lukewarm at best, similarly my wife’s and stepmothers salmon was piping hot, but the mash & broccoli while perfectly cooked were lukewarm bordering on cold.

I don’t think it helped that the food was all served on cold plates and had possibly been waiting for a while before they were bought to our table.

Additionally my other nephew sent back his meal of ribs, fries, beans and mac cheese as it was all cold.

The starters were served promptly and were all delicious and our table was quickly cleared when we finished each course, I would also like to express my gratitude to our waitress for bringing out the birthday cake with Happy Birthday playing on the restaurants speakers and also singing along with the family.

I felt it was important to provide this feedback regarding the lukewarm food as I am a business owner myself and appreciate all feedback from customers so we can continuedly strive to improve our services and work on any issues to avoid any future problems.
