Imperial Bar Meze — Restaurant in Thanet

We went to annual Soul Music Weekend here & the floors were so sticky we couldn't walk, ripped & broke my friends flip flops, 3/4 of us had to take our sandals 🩴 off & go barefoot & there could've been glass, I felt sharp bits in my feet, our feet were black & filthy & had to wash them in puddles outside ! I'm not saying this would always be the case here, of course not, it was jam packed with people spilling drinks throughout an especially busy weekend of human traffic, they said they mop the floor every morning, we said that's not enough on this occasion, we reported it 4 / 5 times & they said they'd come & mop which I could see was possible as there was space & people would move out of the way & be glad to get rid of the sugary floor which was like glue ! But despite all their promises, none of the staff came to mop despite promising to our repeated requests & the fact that they had ample staff on board & I could see they weren't all constantly serving people although I know there's always jobs to do, this being one which was disregarded, they did nothing, we couldn't dance or move, indescribably sticky ! Imperial Lounge stepped in last minute to help us host my Nan's 90th Birthday and I cannot praise them highly enough. We were let down by another venue and Imperial lounge moved heaven and earth to accommodate us. We run events for a living and were extremely impressed with their efficiency, logistics handling and professionalism. On the night their staff were friendly, the food was delicious, the in-house DJ was fab and they allowed us to decorate the entire venue as we saw fit. I don't often leave reviews but the Imperial Bar was incredible. Came across the Imperial Bar on a walk down Margate, without a doubt, a must-visit place if you are ever looking for food and/or drinks. The atmosphere is amazing, with very friendly staff who take great pride in their workplace, aiming to deliver the best customer service possible.

Even when the Imperial Bar got busier the staff still carried themselves professionally, smiling and always spoke respectfully. Places like this are a rarity nowadays.
