MEET - EAT - DRINK (The Med) — Restaurant in Thanet

We visited this restaurant at lunchtime on Sunday and as there were no available tables outside we sat inside the small restaurant. We were the only four people in the restaurant and had to ask to see menus, despite several waitresses standing around. When a waitress finally came over she apologised that she could only find one menu, however, they did manage to find another one shortly afterwards. Our drinks were served quite quickly, but after about 30 minutes, the waitress asked us if everything was ok, and my husband replied that it would be once we got our food. When our food still hadn't arrived after 45 minutes, I asked the three waitresses standing there how much longer the food would be. After a discussion with the person in the kitchen, we were told in a very blasé manner that our order hadn't gone through, no apology. We weren't happy so we got up and said forget the meals, we'll just pay for our drinks, and with that the three waitresses ignored us and walked outside. We stood there for what seemed like a long time but was probably only a few minutes before one came back in and I asked to pay. We really shouldn't have paid for the drinks, but we're not that type of people. I expressed my disgust that several waitresses saw us sitting there and no one thought to check on our meals, especially after my husband told one that we'd be better once we got our food. I went here yesterday, as a coeliac I'm always happy to see it say gluten free on the menu. The first thing I did when we arrived was to tell the waitress I cannot have gluten, she informed me that they do gluten free pizzas and quesadilla so I asked for a chicken and chorizo gluten free quesadilla, when it arrived I checked again that it was gluten free, she confirmed it was so I confidently tucked in. After a few mouthfuls the waitress comes over to inform me that it is fact not Gluten free as she accidentally hadnt put it through as Gluten free, knowing how sick I get I was terrified and headed straight to the toliet to make myself sick unfortunately despite this I was still very unwell being physically sick for hours and feeling like my body was shutting down. Today I still feel unwell and have a terrible headache. This is totally unacceptable, they could kill someone. I'm always worried about eating out and places like this are...

I, my Dad, my Brother and my Daughter have been going to this place for coming upto 5 years nearly daily at at this point and we have never had a bad expericne even when the place is ram busy during the summer.

The food every single time has been amazing and well priced with the menu adding seasonal options/mixing it up every so often, the staff every single time has been amazing, the buiding itself is charming and beautiful inside and out, the owners are incredibly good people and many a times you see them in there working there themselves, the location is perfect and during the days of good wheather has plenty of outdoor seating. I don't know what more you could want from the place.

You could't pay me to find something wrong with the place nor the experience of going there. It is one of the few places I eat at when in Margate and i'm very much sure I and the rest of my family will be eating there for many many...
