After strolling for what felt like forever and day through this once bustling vibrant seaside town. We had no where else to turn, is finding fresh delicious seafood next to the sea really that hard google!? Apparently so 🙄.... Lifeboat was a life line! (I presume this is why they have there name..?) when nothing else could cure our thirst and hunger we thought lifeboat was going bring us up from the the deep sea drowning sensation we had, it was like a mirage when turned the corner, imagine a glistening lake in an Egyptian dessert... Crowded outside “We’re quids I’m here!” I exclaimed to the wife, she nodded... sensing something wasn’t right... (She’s always right...) “A table for two for food..?” The wife asked In soft gentle tone. “I think there cleaning I’ll have a look...” A ray of hope crept through me, similar to the sensation you have coming up from a pill of ecstasy... He opens the door to a sweaty dreadlocked white man...He returns, I turn to the wife with hopefull eyes.. “Urmm we could do food... If YOU want..” This was not the tone of a man who wanted to accept our hard earned money... Nevertheless I said “Yes!” Then he continued on to say. “No seafood... leave your head at bay” Google I ask once and not twice, is it really hard to have a slice of heaven twice in...
Read moreThis is a Brewdog public house situated on a quiet back road in Margate. The building is old and the second you walk in you can feel the history pouring out of the walls. I was there visiting friends so had never been there before. We went on a Saturday around 10 30pm. The bar stays open until 1am and I'm told it has the longest opening hours, so if you looking for a late night bar this is it. There was a DJ playing a nice selection of popular songs from every decade going back to the 60s. As it's a Brewdog pub it has a great selection of beers both draught and bottled. Also a great selection of wines and spirits. The only issue was the customers. I had a shirt on that mentioned Halloween and a dude just started being aggressive asking why I was wearing it and was a tad insulting. Not too sure I'll go back as I like a quiet life free of...
Read moreTotally unexpected pub. It’s more like a ruin bar in Budapest than a pub in Brexit loving Kent! Joking! It’s got incredible and interesting beers/ales and craft beer. Beautiful wooded interior that is super quirky and alive with an energy that comes with a pub that takes pride in its amber liquid. It’s part of a really vibrant square and you could easily while away a good few hours as the locals pass by. What I managed to do was buy a book (from the local bookshop over the road) and sit and read the first few pages. Can’t wait to come back!...
