I visited Sub Rosa while trying to recapture the feeling of a trip to New York, where I fell in love with proper bagels. But honestly, the bagels here were ten times better than anything I had in the US. Fresh, chewy, full of flavour and just perfect. The staff are super friendly too, which makes the whole experience even better. I actually once flew back from Dublin just to try a new bagel menu item here. That’s how good this place is. Keep doing what you’re doing, Sub Rosa. You’ve got something really special going on.

I wanted to like this place, it looked so promising when we were passing by and spotted it from the street. However, the bagels were subpar, especially the dough - it felt too dense and hard to digest. The fillings were ok, but nothing special. The place is nice on the inside and the service is quite welcoming. Maybe it was bad luck and they normally have better dough or maybe it was just not to our taste.

If you love bagels then you are in luck. Picked myself up a Ploughman's - cheddar cheese, tomato, incredible chutney - on a seeded bagel. Perfect spot for a quick, and filling lunch (and breakfast) Owners are super passionate about what they do so get on down there. Plus Sub Rosa is open all week - whatever the weather.

Incredible food let down by service. We arrived and it was quite busy, we was told 15mins wait which was no problem at all, always happy to wait for something really good. However people were taking the wrong orders and just walking out with them, a simple name to order system would surely help identify what orders go to what person.

Coffees annoyingly only half filled, well made but... I just wish I had my relatively small cup filled all the way up u know 🫤

Tip of the iceberg was that 1 of our 2 sambos got forgotten and even though it was kinda irritating, we didn't mind just nabbing a refund for it any heading off to town but she insisted I waited rather than just the refunding that part of the order.

We wanted the refund coz of the two half filled coffees frankly, but was talked into waiting for a slapped together pastrami Sammy 3.6/5 Needs slightly more organisation and...

An absolute hidden gem in Margate! Went in for a quick lunch stop was extremely impressed with all aspects of the food - the ingredient quality, the size and the taste were all fantastic. I got the "Gabriel" (pastrami bagel with cream cheese and chilli mayo - it comes with a fried egg, but I passed on that due to preference) and my girlfriend got a poppyseed bagel with cream cheese - you can tell with each bite that you're really getting your money's worth! Speaking of which - £11.50 for 2 bagels and a latte is brilliant value for money with the products you're getting from here, so well worth it.

Nestled away in Margate's Old Town, I highly recommend that you take a moment and stop in to this quaint little venue - it'll make your day! Cheers crew, a well...

My friend and I visited and wanted a smoked salmon bagel-my friend asked for a plain smoked salmon bagel as she is unable to eat some of the other fillings- to which the person serving said ‘No, we can’t do that as it won’t be a good experience and you won’t have a good time’ Not at all accommodating. I have edited this in response to the reply I received. I did not get the chance to eat here so cannot comment on the food. The bagel I WOULD have ordered looked delicious. It was not my intention to upset anyone by leaving an honest review-we would have been happy to pay full price for the second salmon bagel without all the trimmings and would have then been in a position to do a 5 star review. As it was-we were not given...
