Viking Bay Cafe — Restaurant in Thanet

Absolutely wonderful beach cafe & bar situated on stunning Viking Bay and very close to the beach lift.

It has plenty of tables complete with parasols. They serve amazing freshly cooked food and have a great selection of bar drinks including ice cold Birra Moretti, Beavertown Neck Oil and Fosters - all on draught.

The burgers here are probably the best I’ve ever had and they even do ‘skin-on fries’ here which are always favourite. You do get a lot for your money here - so make sure you’re hungry when you visit. There’s also really nice whippy ice cream and loads of other ices & lollys and treats.

Staff are really helpful and go above and beyond with their customer service. It was quite a sunny day and I’d forgotten my sunglasses, but they’ve even got a beach goods hut beside the cafe that sells A whole range of seaside stuff - so I managed to pick up some glasses from there.

A Rare Act of Kindness and Honesty!

While on holiday, we accidentally left our child’s tablet at a beachside table. We only realized it after returning to London and assumed it was lost for good.

To our absolute surprise, the gentleman from the beach restaurant not only kept the tablet safe—he also paid for the shipping to send it back to us in London out of his own pocket. We were truly speechless.

In a world where such acts of honesty and generosity are becoming rare, this man went above and beyond. We are so deeply grateful for his kindness—it meant the world to us and especially to our child.

Great café that is conveniently located right on the beachfront. Reasonable prices and friendly service. Both soft drinks and alcoholic drinks available at the adjoining bar. Food is nothing fancy - burgers, bacon roll, baguettes, salad. They will attempt to cater for your needs even if something is not on the menu e.g. food intolerance.
