I’ve been coming to this restaurant for a few years now and have loved the restaurant, love the decor and the atmosphere, food is amazing, the staff are very friendly and have a great sense of humour.
My last visit was about 8 months ago and I went back recently for a meal, I have to say I was hugely disappointed when the bill came at the end of the night to see the shocking increase in prices, I know prices are going up everywhere but the dramatic change in the pricing here was insane.
When we get poppadoms before our appetisers we normally get a few with chutney, I was flabbergasted that a poppadom was £1.20 EACH! Plus I was charged £1.20 for the chutney which is normally complimentary and no waiter said we had to pay for this.
I then ordered Chicken Tikka for starter, cost £6.10 for literally 3 small pieces of chicken, chicken tikka masala for main, again about 4 pieces of chicken for £12! The drinks were no different, a bottle of J2O was £4.80! I can get a pack of 10 bottles for £6.75 in the supermarket, the same with a bottle of coke, £4.50!
I’ve looked at numerous other Indian restaurants in the area and they charge nowhere near these prices for food and drinks, very disappointed with the cinnamon lodge, I absolutely loved the restaurant but it will be a very long time if ever again I’ll go back here if I’m being charged these amounts for a meal! Was an...
Read moreMe and my partner went last night for dinner, and were surprised at how lovely the food was. That was until my partner realised (after having taken a bite) there was something that definitely wasn’t chicken in his tikka masala. He excused himself to the bathroom to spit it out (not wanting to seem rude in-front of the staff), and ended up being suck in the toilets. We suspect it was something like a mango or a pepper but as far as were concerned, it was not meant to be in there. We didn’t want to complain as we are both extremely nervous people, so we asked for take away boxes and for our bill. We then found out that they had added the OPTIONAL tip onto our receipt without having asked us. Once again we do not like to complain so we just paid it, but it was a bit disheartening when it was clear we are both young students (in college) and do not earn a lot of money at all. Other than that the food was lovely anf the staff were mostly friendly, but we just don’t think we will...
Read moreWent for dinner with a few mates last night and we were all blown away. The food was absolutely delicious. I went for the Tandoori Salmon to start (could have eaten 3 of them it was that good) and the Chicken Xacutee (one of the nicest dishes I have ever tried). My friends had mixed platter to start and said that it was fantastic and all said their mains were equally good. The service was exceptional. All of the staff were extremely friendly and attentive and we got offered a complimentary drink at the end (which we all had to turn down as we were so full). I have to save a special shout out for the naan. I usually find some Indian naan breads heavy and 'doughy' but this naan was so light. It really was fantastic. Abbots Langley is lucky to have this addition to its already great selection of Indian restaurants.... but I think this might be the best...
