An utterly shameful experience. My girlfriend and I went for a meal the night before our holiday. We turn up with a booking for 2 at 6pm. We are starving and order drinks and are ready to get some food, we notice a dad and a daughter are sat at a table next to us and are without food or drinks. I spoke with them asking about how long they have been here, the dad said 25 mins.
I had to ask a waitress to come and serve this lovely man and his daughter whom were without food or drinks for much longer than me and my partner. The waitress proceeds to serve the dad and daughter but forgets about us completely which I had also asked to be served following the people next to us.
I was told our table waitress would come in a moment, 30 minutes pass….I'm on the phone to Oscar’s pizzeria down the round to get a take away.
It was only at that point the waitress arrived at my table and says would you like to order?!?! I simply said no thanks, could I pay for my bill. Not a single question was asked by the waitress…hmm why did you not want to finish your drinks? Can we get you some bread in the mean time as we are busy ? NOTHING, not a single care in the world.
I feel sorry for the owner of this restaurant as I don’t think he or her realises the caliber or lack of when it comes to the staff he is employing, shame really because the pizza is generally nice, however I will never dine at San Georgios ever...
Read moreAfter seeing other people’s reviews, I had high expectations for this restaurant. While most of the food was delicious, the pizza base was a major letdown. It was 80% burnt at the bottom, making it inedible due to the bitter taste. The top looked great, but the bottom was completely overcooked. I was very disappointed.
If the server had asked how the food was, I would have given honest feedback. It seemed like she noticed the burnt pieces I left on the plate but chose to ignore them.
I appreciate the wide selection of the appetizers in the lunch menu, and I initially thought the lunch menu was cheaper than other Italian restaurants in town, but after the 12.5% service charge, the price was more or less the same.
I expected better based on the reviews, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t...
Read moreVisited San Giorgio for the first time last night for a "date night" dinner with my husband and we both enjoyed the experience very much! The Margherita pizza was absolutely perfect, as good as any you can find in Neapolitan-style pizzerias in London or indeed Naples itself!! So delighted to have found this gem in a little Hertfordshire village! My husband ordered the beef ragu pasta, which he said was very very tasty. The homemade tiramisu also did not disappoint! The lady owner of the restaurant brings so much positivity and energy to the place and made us feel so welcome! Without a doubt I will be returning to San Giorgio very soon, hopefully with the kids too as they love a...
