We had my daughter's wake at The Swan on the 12th August 2022 and the service we received on the day from Jo the Assistant Manageress was absolutely first class. I cannot praise her enough for her kindness and empathy for the sad occasion. She went above and beyond for the whole day , to the area we were given and arranged to display a large collage of photos of my daughter and place individual photos in the area as well. And although obviously very busy (it was a Friday) she constantly found the time to keep asking if there was anything I/we needed etc. Thank you so much Jo. You are a credit to Greene King and I hope they appreciate you! 5 * The food and service was fantastic too, with a selection of hot and cold finger buffet. The only reason I didn't give 4 stars in my rating was because I did call on several occasions before the funeral/wake - all at non busy times and every single time my call was not answered and went onto an answerphone. Further to this not a single return call was made as a result of the messages left so I visited the pub in person. Otherwise, highly...

Had to raise my review from a 1 to a 4, pub seems to be getting much better (I'm assuming it's due to new managers jo an michael) staff seem friendlier (last time was a young grumpy girl with far too much make up on for handling food and drink and an even grumpier manager called paul) beer quality seems better (not as warm or sickly as before) and food came out very quickly (meat feast pizza is good). I used to come to the swan all the time but last summer and towards Christmas it went downhill very quickly and me and my husband stopped coming, I only came here on Saturday as my sister was there and she stated it had improved alot, I see also see a lot of new faces behind the bar and they all seemed happy and enjoying there work even though they were clearly busy. I will definitely start coming in more...

Very, very slow service for food. Was told after we ordered and paid that the food would be an hours wait, was very frustrating as we could of gone to another place to eat as we had children with us and had booked in advance. A couple sat down next to us and was eating within 15 minutes even though they sat down 20 minutes after us and ordered the same meal. It may have been an off day as they seemed to be massively under staffed, the lady who delivered our food just dumped it down on the end of the table without a care in the world and just didn’t seem to care about the customers or the food she was serving. After a very lengthy wait the food was mediocre at best, presentation was poor and I had cold salad under my hot meat on a mixed grill??

Sadly this was our first and possibly last visit to this...

Lovely little pub very cosy. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful (especially Paul who served us) as were what I persume were the locals (were from South Manchester on a visit to Harry Potter tour so not local to the area). I really enjoyed my Chicken and bacon salad just the right amount just the right amount. I did get to pinch 1 of my daughters chips (at her request) which were lovely not greasy/over dry and her plate was clear within minutes. The mocha & chocolate torte with coconut and vanilla ice cream was divine 🤤 a must have if your visiting this quaint little pub. It seems quite a popular place as there were quite a few people when we arrived and couple reserved tables. I think I'd definitely visit again if we're in this neck of the woods.

Found this pub to pass some time while most of the family did a trip to Harry Potter experience. This is quite a large pub with a good car park that does food. The place was clean and tidy and the decor was good. The ladies serving behind the bar were great and really friendly and it appeared to be a place that the locals love as many were spoken to by name, but they made us outsiders very welcome. I always think having owners or staff like this is makes the experience so much better. They had a good menu but as we were just waiting we only had snacks of the menu but they were really well cooked and came quite quickly.

If you’re a family looking for some food and a nice little drink avoid this place at all cost it’s the worse Iv ever been to. First of all when we arrived we didnt get greeted and when we asked ourselves about the table we previously booked they did not show any interest in interacting with us and basically told us to sit anywhere. The food was below par and the facilities were disgusting, the place as a whole was sticky! Then towards then end of the meal they proceed to come over and nearly shout at us in front of all the other customer that kids have to be gone by half 8, bare in mind it was half 6
