After coming here for years! Since I was a child myself, I've always brought my family children here. Decided one night for a takeaway delivery. Uber are the co however it's the deccan staff who sodt and deliver and uber can't track. 1.5 hours no food phoned said on way over 2hrs still no food, phoned said so sorry it's coming now. Food arrived, and beautiful food hot tasty few bits missing like naan bread, but that's okay .
Order a few weeks later and the same scenario, no food. Phoned and again said on way.. phoned again to be told he'd been and no answer! Then he said he couldn't find us and then was extremely rude and said he was too busy for this and I'll not get the food I'd ordered over two 2hrs ago and paid for ..this was the owner! We've spent lots of money in this restaurant, ate amazing food, had amazing service and we were spoken to so badly on this occasion. They use Uber for you to order accept orders and then clearly forget to process them. They then give you the run around when you phone to get an update. Tell you it's on the way then tell you something else. Was absolutely disgusted with this. I'd seen several posts on FB with similar issues, and I'd always sang the Deccans praises. Unfortunately, not this time. Definitely taking on too much and become greedy. It's such a shame as we throughly loved...
Read moreMoved to Urmston recently and we are trying to find our go to Indian restaurant. We have tried the spice mafia which wasn't great. We had a few recommendations for this place. Being a Friday we ventured out and walked passed the Adrak which was really busy onto the Deccan which only had a few diners in. This should have been telling sign. We ordered a mix starter and a chicken Handi, pilau rice and Partha bread all to eat at the same time. The food didn't take long to come the mix starter was actually quite good. The chicken Handi was not good it tasted nothing like the amazing ones I've had in the past. We both left the curry as it wasn't nice at all, I like to try different curries but I feel this places curries are pretty much all the same just different things added to them. The service was ok but at the end we noticed they gave other tables a small shot of Bailey's. The table down from us didn't drink them and as I watched the older gentleman waiter clear their table he then served us the left over drinks. Not a good idea in these times with germs etc being passed so easily. We will not be using this as our go to curry house and the search continues. Let's hope that the Ardak is better as it's next...
Read moreI travel for work a lot and tend to go to a local curry house most weeks. This Indian was the most expensive I’ve seen, I nearly walked out hadn’t the Indian down the road (Adrak) been full.
Lemonade was flat. The poppadoms were good, but the starter tray was poor, the mint sauce didn’t taste of anything and a general non runny consistency normally means it’s been left out for to long and not replenished to make it fresh.
A Chicken Madras followed (8.50!) I expect a lot for 8.50. It was basically a tomato soup, the chicken was the only thing that brought flavour. Nan and rice were good and plentiful, they do give you good portions and the madras wasn’t that greasy.
Ending complimentary’s were good. The bill was £18.70 for one person. I’d expect to pay honestly £13-16 for the meal. Nice decor, friendly customs. Just disappointed that the price is to high for such poor sauces (starter tray...
