Arrived at 13.31pm for a 13.30pm booking for afternoon tea. The food was already laid out in the table. The sandwiches were wrapped in clingfilm obviously to keep them fresh. I did not like this as who knows how long the food was out for. I have never experienced afternoon tea already being out. The scones and cakes were not homemade, they were clearly shop bought and the individual mine cakes were tiny and cheap. Very small cafe and we were pretty cramped. Toilet was a mess with no toilet roll on the holder but I managed to find it behind me after standing up. Floor of toilet was dirty. Several tables are right next to the toilet which is unisex also. I did not complaint about any issues to the staff as this was a treat for 2 family members and I did not want to cause any embarrassment. Mandy runās the cafe, which has a restaurant menu too and was really kind to our children. They even got a little flake thrown in with their drinks and the 2 year old was given a little plush to play with whilst we waited for our drinks. Thereās also a selection of kids toys to play with too. The new ownership hasnāt been around long, and at the time of writing the Google listing had had the previous cafe reviews jumbled in. Rest assured that if youāre needing a bit of a small spot for a boost, then this is a hidden gem. I rarely, if ever, write a review, which tells you what I thought of the warm welcome and service.
