Angels Wine Tower Bar — Restaurant in Uttlesford

Ok so know this is an airport hotel bar and thus any sort of atmosphere is tricky. But this is borderline clinical and with such an amazing space I think could be made to feel better.

Food is of a decent standard and not overpriced which is positive. The onion rings are standout in terms of being good. The chicken wings are mushy and awful. So swings and roundabouts eh?

Finally I thought the service was friendly and efficient. However when it's an order at the bar type affair please don't smack 12.5% on my bill because I ordered a few bar snacks. If service is good I will always leave a tip. DO NOT add it at the start when I don't know if the service is going to be awful...

The staff at the bar are incredibly friendly and helpful. Giuseppe and Davide made great drinks and had wonderful recommendations for local attractions. Francesca was the manager and duty; she was very helpful and attentive always making sure everyone was taken care of. Cristina worked the second night we were there and was very attentive to bus tables and deliver drinks one after another. We never sat with empty drinks in front of all. All were wonderful at recommending drinks suggestions as well.

There are five guys behind the bar working, yet it takes extremely long time for them to serve customers. One answered his personal phone calls in front of the guests, three where trying to look busy so they don’t have to take our order and then there was one that was alone mixing the drinks or taking payments. We tried to make eye contact with the workers, but they just were avoiding us so they don’t have to work. We waited 30 minutes without getting even to order food or drinks.
