I hate to leave bad review because I work in hospitality and I’m a chef. However, my experience here was absolutely terrible. I only had 9 pounds left to eat with and I’d been travelling all morning so I needed to use up the little money I had left to eat. I ordered these pancakes that were 8.95 they came cold and crunchy. I ate most of it as I was starving and had been travelling since very early in the morning but I left a piece so I could explain to the staff how crunchy and hard the pancakes were (you could barely cut them) the server took my concerns to the bar manager and took my plate and then I sat there for a long time wondering what would come next, noone spoke to me about my concerns or offered me the bill so I sat there at my empty table. After a while I went over to the bar manager who was at the bar chatting to state my concerns directly and I had said everything I typed up in this review about how disappointed I am considering my circumstances and the money I had left. She walked away mid conversation without a word to me and just started tallying up my bill. I went back to my table completely shocked that she just left without saying anything to me at all. Then she placed my bill on the table and said its 7 pounds and then just left. so I got 2 quid taken off a 9 pound pancake meal where I couldn’t eat 2/3 of the pancakes. I was completely appalled at the state of the customer service, the bar managers attitude but also 2/3 of the servers spent the whole time flirting and serving noone leaving the blonde lady who initially served me doing all the work for all the tables. And after spending now 7/9 pounds I had my stomache hurts probably because the pancakes were frozen or something considering how hard and cold they were. TLDR rude staff and...

Read moreWe had a relaxing pre-flight meal at Terracotta Italian Kitchen, it was the ideal retreat from the busy hustle and bustle of the airport. There was a nice feel to the restaurant and wasn’t too busy, it was ideally situated next to the shuttle train to the gate.
The service was good and waiting time short, our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and of good quality. It would have been nice to have a slightly more generous portion of Carbonara, however with a side of Mozzarella Garlic Bread my meal was well-portioned and satisfying. My friend enjoyed their meal as well, particularly their dessert of Orange & Lemon Torte. This came with a refreshing looking blood orange sorbet.
There was a ‘Rapido’ feature on some of the menu items which designated that the dish would be served within 15 minutes. Neither of my dishes had this though they were still served within 15 minutes I believe.
The only downsides to this restaurant were the prices and cleanliness of some of the glassware. My Carbonara was priced at £17.45 and my Aperol Spritz at £12.95. At the end of our meal I discovered lipstick on the edge of my glass, fortunately I had been using a paper straw. I advised the waiter of this, he apologised and we received 10% off our meal after I requested a discount. My friend also thought there was something like a clothing fibre in their drink.
Overall I would return to this restaurant as it is a proper sit down dining experience and more relaxing than some of the other food outlets at...
