Cafe Yeomans — Restaurant in Uttlesford

Unfortunately, me and my family did not have the best experience. There was a very long wait for the food to come out, which was confusing as the restaurant was far from full. I ordered the New York burger, and when it came out and was literally falling apart on the plate. I was also only given a very small handful of chips.

My husband ordered a large full English, and when it came out, it was very small indeed. The sausages also looked very overdone, but when he cut into it, it was still quite pink on the inside. This made him feel quite ill over the course of the day, and eventually turned into sickness and diarrhoea to which he had to call in sick to work the next day. I sent Yeoman’s a private email notifying them of our experience to which I received no response, It’s such a shame, as we’ve been to Yeomans a handful of times and never received such poor quality food. I did ask the waitress if they had changed their chef recently, to which she said they had. I hope he hasn’t stayed at the business for very long and potentially made more...

Had a lovely catchup & birthday lunch with my girlfriend's here today, very nice!🎂🥂 Everything as..you'd expect.. we'd pre-booked our table of 4.. it was heaving when we got there at one.. so glad we had done.. the coffee was lovely! i.. commented on.. how nice that was..☕ so i was expecting the food to live up to it's coffee the same!.. what a.. disappointment! i.. had the chicken ceaser it was awful..🤷‍♀️ i should have complained there'& then but mindful of spoiling it for my.. friends 🤷‍♀️ even one of my friend's.. commented & said it looked unappetising chicken ceaser is one of my favourite dishes.. the chicken was horrible though i don't think it was sliced off a fresh chicken.. looked liked bought sliced & instead of coutons it looked like fried bread cubed which made it greasy.. & the salad did'nt look vibrant & green it all just looked a day old to me..😕 shame, i won't be having that again.. but apart from that no.. complaints! a pleasant after'on spent with friends.. although i wish i still had my nice crisp £20 quid...

Visited again a week after leaving my recent 3 star review - quite a different experience due to pleasant staff who told us they were busy and there would be a 20 min wait for food. Much better hence increasing to 4 stars. Previous visit: Served by new staff who seemed to be struggling and were abrupt and unfriendly - no eye contact, no smiles - (I arrived at 1350, the end of the lunchtime rush) and not responding to customers. A long wait for a menu (asked twice) then 15 mins before coffee and water arrived, and baguette had been sitting in the kitchen until I asked after 20 mins. In the past this cafe has been a lovely welcoming place with quick service and friendly staff. Hope this atmosphere will return as my last 2 visits (late June and late July) have been less enjoyable due to the demeanour...
