The Duke Of York — Restaurant in Uttlesford

I have visited the Duke occasionally to watch football over the years on this visit I paid for my first drink with coins then my second drink with a twenty pound note and then given change for a ten I immediately flagged this up and told by the owners partner and bar maid I paid with a ten this would have been impossible as I only had twenties I was then abused by a foul mouthed customer and the owner Ian when called said he had to believe his partner and staff but would cash up till to verify the mistake he has contacted me to say the mistake is mine . I will add this is the first time there has been a discrepancy but if you wish to avoid being short changed and my advice is never pay by card as if the owners partner and staff can lie over a tenner then just imagine what they could do with your card then have your dignity and intelligence insulted then avoid...

We played it toooo long :) but it was amazing. A great assortment of different kind of beers, cocktails and special drinks. So a wonderful place to watch football, cricket or other national sports. I love the food there and the wine I ordered is very fruity. I didn’t give five stars for the service only because a waiter looks very rude and not willing to help to bring another set of cutlery to a seat where I already sat down with my friends.
