Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Wakefield

Easy access for wheelchairs and prams....however inside is a different story as it is cramped and no room to navigate a pram or wheelchair. The isles are way too narrow, although the food was delicious and served at the correct temperature but sadly my Cheese and bacon toastie was served on a dirty plate. There was cheese from a previous purchase which looked to be welded to the underside. The coffee shop floor had some debris lying underneath and around a settee which is a slip hazard. Even though it was lunch time the table in front of me and to the right hadn't been cleaned the whole 45 mins I had been sitting there. The disabled toilet floor was somewhat in need of a clean and the hand dryer was out of order. The Staff were very polite and somewhat overwhelmed by the queue forming. The coffee was however served at perfect temperature but missing the flavour shot that had been ordered. The hot chocolate was perfect and the seating was comfortable and clean. Poor service, I definitely can’t blame the staff there, they were lovely but under a lot of pressure due the busyness and short of staff, the manager need to hire more staff in this branch as it’s not the first time I am facing the same issue, always need to wait at least 25 minutes to be served and all my lunch break is 30 minutes that’s why i order a take away instead of sitting in and enjoy my drink.

For today I wanted to order the new in the menu which was the white chocolate iced latte but unfortunately again it was unavailable for the second time this week, the staff kindly apologized and said it’s run out.

I mean the place looks nice and clean, location is great and there is a free parking as well as outside seats but once again i gave low rating due the waiting time...

Certainly not the greatest experience if I’m honest. I’m a Costa regular but very likely I’ll pass by this one in the future. Drinking in, paid for drinks for two of us, no clean cup for one of our drinks! Only take out cup available, asked if it was ok, said no! But still got in served in take out cup! Asked for partial refund, told thsts not possible! Strange! The service by the Barista suddenly took a deep downward dive! Cups banged onto the tray, I said when the food was ready to let me know and I’d come back to the counter to collect, at which point she grunted and said ‘if your lucky’. Clearly she needs to be re-educated. No point asking for a total refund as I clearly couldn’t get a partial one! AVOID AVOID AVOID!...
