It's been a long time since I had to complain about the food and non commitment of management in a pub or restaurant.
Firstly, Jayne, our server was brilliant. Very friendly and attentive to our needs. However the food left very little to be desired. There were 5 of us in our group and two of us ordered the giant Yorkshire pudding with mash and sausage. The Yorkshire pudding was so tough that the waitress offered me another knife to cut it. She brought a steak knife which made the job a little easier but I left 3/4 of my meal as it was not an enjoyable experience. Solid and thick pudding instead of light and airy.
Dessert next - two of us ordered apple crumble with vanilla ice-cream. I don't know why but the crumble was like a fine powder and did not look at all appetising. Our waitress was apologetic and offered to refund the cost of the desserts and then because of our experience, said she would bring the manager over. We waited and waited and WAITED but no manager showed up. It turns out that my husband who had gone to the bar to obtain his refund met one manager (not knowing that she was a manager) who refunded the cost of the desserts but never made herself known as management and offered no apology. We all left and I asked Jayne where the manager was. The manager came off her break as I was just going through the door.
You will never get any of our money again! Its difficult to explain on here what actually happened but management in this establishment are rubbish. You need training on how to approach dissatisfied customers instead of hiding away in the kitchen. You came out too late and you obviously don't care to hear how bad our experience was as you shrugged your shoulders and said 'alright' when I said you'd be hearing from me on trip advisor. Absolutely NO confidence in management and I say that Jayne should be trained up to be a manager because she knows how to treat...
Read moreUpdate 18 months on. Jan 2018. The company obviously never read or respond to any feedback. One wonders why you would have a loyalty scheme if you didn't use or monitor the information gleaned. Original review; Have been a regular here for months and built up a £40 bonus. So booked a family meal for 17. The service was appalling, considering we ordered from the main menu and the bill was nearly £200. They charged my debit card ( to set up a tab ) for the main courses, when I specifically asked to pay cash. We had no specific waiter/waitress and had to request attention for every need. The food from the main menu was very poor for the price. We have dined regularly from the offer menu and that seemed to be better that the rubbish we were served up. ( Ultimate sausage and mash was one dish our group had and appart from the "cardboard" giant Yorkshire pudding ) it was no different than the budget version. We got a waiter to take our sweet order £45 worth and he did his job diligently. But appart from him and an older lady who served them the service was very poor. The floor managers or whatever their titles are were very unhelpful, bordering on rude. We were not roudy/ drunk or anything like that in case your wondering. Just a family get together, with a mix of children and parents. Will be thinking twice about continuing our patronage of this establishment. As a company who's business is in the leisure industry, I think even as a budget priced restaurant, minimum standards should be...
