This has to be one of the top 3 worse takeaways I've had the misfortune to order /throw away, I can only assume the regular chef was away and their replacement didn't want to be there, first impressions on a warm Bank Holiday Monday were not great as the atmospher of grease lay everywhere even on the flies , the carpet wouldnt of looked out of place in a dosers drug den, our server a pleasant lady was the highlight of our experience at the Agra. We ordered plain Naan breads and they certainly went to town on the plain, uncooked dough could of almost be re formed and rolled out again, the chicken ceylon and lamb bunha were one of the same, raw onion and sugary bland sauce was a struggle to finish so we gave up after 3 mouthfuls, we took it to our holiday cottage anticipating our £36.60 order all hungry and eager only for us to throw the lot, I dispute anyone who regularly uses this curry house to be in full sanity if they think this is the best indian in Wales. Good luck if you care to ignore this warning our fear of the journey home with the potential side effects was real. No fall out with the proprietor just really...
Read moreI live on Anglesey and the Agra is probably the closest Indian restaurant to me. I've eaten in the restaurant part and have to agree that it's quite run-down. They need to get rid of the carpet because it's seen better days and doesn't do the place any favours.
We ordered tandoori chicken on the bone, bombay potato ( Bombay aloo) , potato and cauliflower baji ( aloo gobi), tarka dal and plain boiled rice. Taste wise 🤔 Bland, the bombay aloo and aloo gobi tasted the same which they shouldn't. Decent portions. The tandoori chicken didn't have much meat on either piece and again bland with an odd taste that reminded us of incense. The dal was ok as was the rice. Decent portions.
Unfortunately this isn't going to be our regular takeaway...
Read moreThis establishment fails to achieve the low standards it sets itself... if i could give it rating stars for its failings in culinary art it would be like looking at a photo that the james webb telescope had taken of the solar system . Even our dog turned its nose up at the balti we left, and he will eat almost anything. The Chef should get a medal for consistently ruining a perfectly good dish. I wouldnt recommend this place even if it was the only place to get food on the wonderful island of Angelsey . The front of house staff , might as well not bother, they are rude and confrontational and do NOT take criticism at all well. everything seems to be a chore instead of a welcoming helpful manner which should be there...
