I've been missing Turkey this year, so the opportunity to try the newly opened Turkish restaurant which everyone has been talking about couldn't be missed. Every single member of staff was happy to be there and couldn't be helpful enough. The interior has been designed with modern lighting on walls covered in rustic 3d murals of local castles, etc. I can't do it justice in words and wish I'd taken photos. The original plan of gin and lemonade was halted by a limitation of flavours of gin (lots of brands but all plain) but that wasn't an issue and a bottle of zinfandel was soon being enjoyed. For a starter we had a hot mezze platter. The garlic mushrooms were missing, but we'd almost finished before we even noticed. Everything was delicious and nothing was left over. Now you may be wondering why I've given 5 stars if the gin selection wasn't perfect and the starter wasn't as expected? the answer is simple... the main course. The picture attached is the Antolian special plate, a sharing platter for 2-3 people. It could have easily served 4. Every single bite was cooked to perfection, full of flavour, moist and delicious. The chicken wings, chicken shish, lamb shish, kofte, grilled peppers, grilled tomatoes, rice, cous-cous even the side salad was simply perfect. We couldn't finish the plate, not even close, but the staff were more than happy to box it up. I could have eaten more, or walked home, but not both. We will be heading back there and recommending to all our friends, local and afar. Aside from a mind blowing valentines meal in Holland, this is probably the best meal I've had out in 2020.

Restaurant review of Anatolian Turkish Restaurant Abergavenny @anatolianturkishrestaurant1 We ate here on the Sunday bank holiday and we were the last table to come in 9pm, they gave us a great table in the corner at the back of the restaurant. Perfect table for us. One of the best restaurants I've eaten in. Swipe to see all pictures We ordered the set menu for x4 , which was great value for money. (Swipe to see what was included) The food is cooked over charcoal, giving it a great traditional Turkish BBQ flavour, all the meat was marinated in various spices, and served with a huge portion of rice, pearl barley and salad. The decor was very unique and traditional. The highlight for me was the service. Our two servers couldn't have done enough for us, thank you so much to April & Ismail , you really elevated the experience for us. I will be recommending the restaurant to everyone I know. Bravo and see you soon 👏👏👏 Ben

First impressions were excellent - very nice decor and so clean! There was an open view to the kitchen which I always think is impressive as there's nowhere to hide! Staff were very professional and friendly, leaving the perfect amount of time between seating, drinks and food ordering. We were served complimentary bread, dips and olives while we waited for our mains - which when they arrived were delicious and plentiful. Also very reasonably priced at £24 for a chicken sharing platter for 2 (so much so that we couldn't finish it so our very lovely waitress offered to box up our leftovers to take with us). And if there's any ladies out there that like me, would change an entire review if the toilets were rank need not worry.... They were spotless! I would highly recommend that if you are visiting Abergavenny to drop and enjoy this fantastic place!

We went for a Family meal this evening. The service is absolutely Amazing very friendly and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Before we left they came over with a little penguin ice cream for my daughter that she Absolutely Loved. The food was beautiful all cooked to perfection the lamb ribs were the best I have ever tasted! My older daughter had the salmon that was cooked beautifully and my younger daughter had to chicken shish which was also cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is lovely inside the staff are so welcoming and the detail inside the restaurant is Beautiful highly reccomend of anyone is looking for an authentic Turkish Restaurant. In Wales 👏

Really enjoyed my experience at Anatolian. We had not booked a table but were allocated one anyway as we came before the busy evenings bookings. For starters we had the hot meze platter, would recommend this, very tasty with plenty of choice. For mains we had lamb chops and mixed kebab (kofta & shish). Let me tell you, this lamb is some of the best I have tasted, cooked to perfection. Drinks were a little expensive, but great choice of options. Waiters/waitresses were very attentive. Will be visiting again the next time we visit South Wales.

Great traditional Turkish food. Had the aubergine shakshuka and kofta. Cannot complain. Chicken Kofta was well seasoned, plenty of onion, cumin and seasoning. Meat was fatty and lots of olive oil - but that's the point! It's traditional food, not macro-food 😜 For healthier options they have a grill section. But slightly pricier compared the bargain £16 lunch deal (starter + main). Home made starter also came with freshly fired homemade flat bread. Best bread me and my friend have had in a while! That should tell you something 😉
