The sourdough bread is the best I've found. No supermarket can match it. It's costs £4.85 so the bread is more of a treat than something to buy weekly. The sweet pastries are lovely too. Why it's a four and not a five is because if you want a cheese toastie they charge you £6.60 which is too expensive. You could buy the loaf of sourdough and some cheese for £6 and toast it yourself and have about 6 sandwiches at home or more. I doubt they will change the price due to this post and because people are willing to pay it as they sell out almost every day but I think it's a shame that they charge so much. Read moreAbsolutely fantastic bread (as expected), but also deluxe sandwiches, a lovely display of organic fruit & veg, Spanish deli items, olives, oils, chocolate etc. There's a very high quality, unfussy range of cheese and an interesting gathering of bottles including fine cider and a great mix of beer styles from The Kernel brewery.
I think that the combination of an uncluttered layout, (which is ideal for quicker decision making) and the very friendly and unpretentious staff make this a very enjoyable shopping experience.
