Regency 59 — Restaurant in Wales

Well, we have been many Many MANY times over the years. We both Travel a good fair way to come to this particular curry house. Love this place. The Railway Lamb dish is without a doubt our favourite. HOWEVER……. This last visit has sadly left a bit more of a bitter taste in our mouths. Them prices have been jacked right up so high. We couldn’t believe it when the bill came. Not what we are both used to at all. Food tasted fabulous as always but then those numbers slapped the taste right out of my mouth. I don’t believe we will be returning any time soon in the future with these rates. We will need to save up our pocket money from the tooth fairy and hope the government lowers our taxes so we can afford to go. But let’s be honest, the tooth fairy will visit far before this current government lowers our taxes. Such a pity. We loved this curry house to bits. Me and my wife had meal at this lovely restaurant this afternoon. We started with garlic mushrooms which were superb and piping hot. For the main course I had pan fried seabass with garlic new potatoes and vine Tom and leeks in garlic, it was absolutely delicious and the best seabass I've had in years. My wife had cod in batter with chips and peas which she said was beautiful. Well done recency for a superb meal with lovely presentation and served by lovely polite staff. A fantastic find in the heart of Abergavenny. The food was extremely well-cooked & delicious. Our waitress Bethan was a delight - very friendly, attentive & gave great advice when ordering our food. Although the restaurant was very busy due to the town's annual Food Festival, our food arrived promptly & was very hot. Bethan ensured our glasses were never empty & although she was very busy, she continued to serve us with smile & a 'can-do' attitude. I would highly recommend this Nepalese...
