(update: because I was telling someone about it but It looks like the owners or Burger King have decided to do something with this place, long overdue imo.. recent reviews paint the same bleak picture.. it's simple math really? I personally would not use an eatery if I worried that the staff had to endure that kind of hell.. id seem it high risk on hygiene... I'll change my original stars when I visit next.. which hopefully won't be any time soon... Original Review:(I doubt I would ever give Burger King a One Star rating, its a shame its linked to this services). That said, I would give it one fifth of a star if I could. Possibly the worse services I've ever stopped at.. Think Trainspotting toilet scene.. The dated and shabby decor only add to the decrepit misery of the place. On that basis I immediately ruled out a burger king meal. (Are the staff forced to use the same disgusting toilets?). I was also unfortunate enough to need to use the loo, I'd been driving for two hours. I just had to go.. There are three stalls/traps.. Entering trap#1 - the lid was down, I knew something horrible awaited me, I should've tried the broken flusher first because the horrific pan contents can't be described in written word nor could I photograph it.. On the plus side, maybe someone cleans it once a week and you'll get lucky as this stall has a door that can be locked. Swiftly moving on to Trap#3 - someone had covered the seat in a toilet roll nest.. Then it looked like someone had pee'd on the nest.. I didn't think it was my place to clean it so I left (the door may lock).. Leaving Trap#2.. The lid was up and the flusher worked (initially) the door lock was broken.. Possibly the most anxious poo I've had in a while.. The fifth of a star comes from being a spacious stall.. The downside being its too far to keep a hand held out to stop people interrupting the experience.. One of the soap dispensers had soap which was a bonus.. All in all I think the owner of the building should be ashamed, all it needs is a lick of paint and to pay a cleaner. I feel really sorry for the Burger King staff for having to endure that as a work place on a daily basis.. It must really sap their confidence.. It reminded me of something from The Walking Dead.. My missus confirmed the Women's toilets are the same.. Real shame because the actual building and layout is good, it could be transformed so easily.. @Burger King: you must have some clout, if you only rent a small part of the building, do the right thing by your staff and pressure the landlord into...

This place is a mess. No, it's beyond a mess it's downright shocking
It now looks like some abandoned building in Detroit. The car park is full of holes and the top layer of asphalt is so broken and fragmented it's like it has a disease. there are panels missing in the rotten fascia boards along the roof and the majority of the signage in the carpark hasn't been looked at since it was installed in the late 1990s- it's now faded out so far it can no longer be read even when you're 15cm away from it. The makings for the parking bays can no longer be seen.
The paving in front of the entry way needs a canoe to cross as the drainage is blocked. The outer doors themselves are covered in paint that is flaking off.
Inside what was once a bustling road services area is now dark, they don't even light it fully. Sections are roped off where other business once stood and it feels eerie as hell. The walls and flooring are covered in the scars and marks where facilities (vending machines, furniture ect) were once were fitted and have been ripped out. It really does look like an rotting and abandoned vaporwave mall from my teenage years in the 90s
I can't speak for the ladies but the gents were grim. Think like the crusty buildings Neo and the gang go running through to escape the Agents at the end of the first Matrix film only with a with piss all over the floor. It's dingy, dark, and danker than my meme stash. If it wasn't for the diabetes driven need to pee I would have noped out of there pronto. After leaving I wanted to get a stiff bristled brush and scrub myself down with bleach
The counter staff are paradoxical, at once indifferent and dis interested then so suddenly starved of attention as the place is so quiet over a shift they trip over themselves to engage you.
Unless it's life-or-death that you need a Bacon XL Double Cheeseburger do yourself a favour and go to Starbucks and allow this place let out it's last...
Read moreExtremely run down, uncared for and dirty. This is, by far, the worst Burger King we have ever visited. Entering the service area at around 7:00pm on a Saturday evening, there is a Travelodge, a Little Chef and a Burger King with a nearby filling station incorporating a small Spar shop. The fairly extensive parking area is free. First impression heading to the building was not good. Two litter bins were full and strewn around them was lots and lots of rubbish, some of which had migrated some distance, making the whole area very untidy. Entering the building, we noticed ceiling fittings and tiles missing, a couple changing their baby on the carpet in the 'closed' Little Chef seating area and two more refuse bins that were overflowing with lots of rubbish around them next to the Burger King seating area. My wife visited the toilets while I ordered. Had to wait several minutes because no - one was at the counter. A young lady eventually appeared, even though two other workers were busy preparing food. It was a real chore for her to take my order... obviously interrupted something she was doing! Our fish sandwich turned out to be 3 fish fingers in a bun! The toilets were absolutely disgusting, dirty, no toilet paper, unflushed, broken door locks etc. and smelly. The tables in the seating area were filthy and there was food and rubbish on the floor. They had obviously run out of Fanta as the assistant walked over to the Little Chef area and took a bottle out of their refrigerator! This place is a health risk and should be closed down. On the way out of the service area we carefully negotiated the many potholes. Advise all travellers to give this...
