I will try and be as fair as possible as the place has only been open a week so can be cut some slack. We visited on 30th Dec 2019.
On first impressions the place seems relatively nice however the longer you spend there the more issues you notice, and if you visit within the next few weeks particularly then I'm sure you'll experience this.
I'll start with the food as the quality of the cooking was great and our meal was excellent. The dishes were tasty and well seasoned. If the review wad based solely on the food then they would get 4 stars from me. Only exception being the garlic naan which only has a few specks of garlic paste and was not up to expectations.
Unfortunately the service is the let down, and it is a big let down! When we arrived it was busy but certainly not full. But after waiting 15 minutes just to get a menu and nearly 45 minutes for our drinks to be brought over, we were already frustrated.
The front of house staff didn't seem to have any sort of front of house experience. They also didn't seem to know anything about the dishes they were serving and they mixed up the dishes completely. I didn't recieve what I had ordered. Luckily I was not too fussy and preferred just to eat what came out than send it back and wait another hour. It was easily over half an hour between finishing our starters and our mains arriving.
We're also found that although our plates were brought out hot, the plate our rice came on was stone cold so needed to be emptied onto the plate straight away. Particularly as no heated trays were provided.
It was fairly hard to actually pick out who was running front of house as there was no sense of organisation from the staff. 15 minutes after w ordered our drinks one came over and told us he knew we were still waiting, but it was still another 10 before our drinks came.
The next issue was the state of the customer toilets. These were located upstairs and you needed to walk through a door top the side of the bar (marked only as a fire exit) then go upstairs to get to them. The gents was marked but the ladies was not. You also had to walk past what looked like rubbish from the renovation. Once in the toilets it was in a fairly poor state of repair with even the lock on the door being broken.
On some more minor issues the staff seemed to store all three empty glasses on bar allowing them to accumulate until there was no more room. The dumb waiter was also located by the door meaning you had to walk past empty plates as you walked in. This isn't a huge issue in itself but I'd expect better from a place advertising itself for fine dining. The tables they had also seemed to have a heating element built in although this wasn't connected or in use. This is probably a good thing as there was no safety markings at all on the electronics, which were all in Chinese. Crucially there was no CE mark.
At the end of the night we're also found that although we'd asked for the bill, we'd needed to put our costs on to leave and go up to the bar just to get it.
In conclusion I think this has the potential to be a nice place, but there's a desperate need for an experienced front of house manager. A saving grace is that they are offering 25% of until the 8th December but unless they improve their service dramatically by then, full price won't be worth it.
TLDR: give it a few months...
Read moreWent with a friend on a Tuesday evening and managed to get there in time for the early bird menu which finishes at 7pm. Very good value and plentiful food. The restaurant wasn't that busy, a table of 8 and 2 tables of 2 people plus us, but had an apology for the time serving the main course. One waitress was really lovely and chatty, the other not so much. Seems like different staff are allocated their individual tasks as not all of them were able to take the food order, it was reliant on one man. As there was quite a lot of food left over we were offered a take away box, but when asked for a third, it was strongly refused. After some coaxing, we had a further box and told only 1 box per customer. This was my second visit here and if early enough in the week I would definitely recommend the early bird menu which is CASH ONLY. Take your own Tupperware and a thermos flask for the coffee which was included if you want to take it away! The food was delicious and would recommend. As it was early in the week, we were able to walk in, but nearer the weekend, probably best to book a table. The early bird menu included poppadoms, a choice of starter, a choice of curry, 3 choices of rice and a few choices of naan. With a soft drink (pepsi) it came to £16.90, which for starter, main, naan and poppadoms was pretty good.
Parking in the area is a little limited, with a couple of onstreet parking bays outside, otherwise it is down side streets. Parking is limited to 1 hour before 6pm, after that no restrictions.
The restaurant is very colourful which I liked, but may affect...

We have ordered from Celebrities on a number of occasions and have always been highly impressed. Only even used Deliveroo and had takeout so I can't comment on the sit in restaurant. The service we have always received has been impeccable until tonight.
An hour after the order was due to arrive, we called to check its whereabouts, the restaurant told us they have no drivers and we have to collect. We had paid a delivery fee (and had a few drinks) so explained this was not an option. We asked for a cancellation and refund so we could order from somewhere else. We were told this will have to be requested via Deliveroo directly.
After spending 30 minutes on a live chat with Deliveroo, we were told Celebrities actually handles their own drivers and therefore Deliveroo could not process our refund.
More than 2 hours after ordering, a cold, ridiculously spicy curry arrived (we always order the same thing, it's never this inedible).
Not happy with the food. Not happy with the service. Will not be ordering from...
