We had an afternoon tea delivered for my mum’s birthday. The service was prompt and the food as good as you could hope for. I sometimes find afternoon tea a little pretentious with the sandwiches too fancy. For me the sandwiches were perfect; simple and delicious. A great selection of cakes with fresh cream (not pictured). Without being negative, it was almost too generous, we had to eat the cakes over two days. With covid, they say to shop local, with this in mind I can’t think of somewhere better to recommend for afternoon tea.

Emmeline made a Norwegian "White Lady" cake to collect for a special occasion: extremely light layers of sponge, cream and apricot jam, completely encased in a thin layer of marzipan. The confection was astounding, perfect - and completely authentic. Amazing! And good value considering the work involved. We have also enjoyed excellent coffee and cake at Emmeline's cafe, which being a stone's throw off Abegavenny's main shopping drag is calm while accessible.

Lovely tea room, delicious soup and bread, really lovely sandwiches for my 3 year old, with cucumber slices and blueberries and raspberries too. Little selection of toys too to keep her entertained. Cakes look amazing, I will definitely be back to sample them!

What a gorgeous little gem. Came across this with my daughter today as we wandered around Abergavenny. Staff were so welcoming on arrival and service was really quick. We both ordered the soup and sandwich deal £12.50pp. We ordered courgette and coriander soup and pea and mint soup. Both were obviously homemade and absolutely delicious. Our toasties were cheese & onion and tuna melt and again, both were so tasty and portions were generous too. There were so many cakes (homemade too) but we were too full afterwards. The atmosphere was so lovely and there was plenty of room between all the tables. There was even a cosy corner with a very comfortable sofa and a bookcase with books. What a gorgeous tearoom and we’ll definitely return on our next visit to lovely Abergavenny. Highly...

I've been to this cafe a number of times with family (and even by myself!) and thought I'd just post a recommendation. It's a very relaxing, interesting place which serves high quality lunch fare and drinks. The menu is not expansive but what is offered - soup, sandwiches, etc, is done very well. I am a big fan of the cold beef sandwich! People of all ages are welcome - a nice toys and books section for kids and adults alike. Elderly folk seem to enjoy it. Altogether it feels like you have a proper treat going for a simple lunch in there. I hope the business will continue for many years yet. - Please note I do not know the owners but believe in recommending a local business when...

Met with the owner right after the opening on Saturday mid-January morning. We were searching where to have a proper breakfast and she was very kind to recommend places around. We had a lovely talk, and as we had to go home to another Welsh town later on, we visited this lovely tea room to order some cakes and tea before the departure. The variety there is traditional with some pleasant difference that we liked. This place is disabled accessible, energy saving. On the frosty morning it was warm and even hot inside. Very pleased with attentive and cheerful staff. Will recommend Emmeline's tea...
