Staying in Swansea and on a day out to Mumbles exploring we wanted somewhere for breakfast. I looked on Google and Fika seemed to be highly reviewed. We were the only people in there, but we were quite early. Both of us had no idea from the menu, or signage or reviews to be honest that everything in the cafe was based around bagels. I had the ultimate breakfast bagel, partner had veggie breakfast one. Despite not really being a huge bagel fan, it was a pleasant surprise with interesting combinations of flavours for breakfast. Why the pretentious, stuck up attitude? You donât have the skills to pay the bills! Coffee was cold, pastry was stodgy. Inedible. Owners were sitting in the front making faces at each other. Ridiculous. Brought out cold coffee, asked for spoonâŠgave me a filthy spoon with dried âstuffâ on it. Smirked. Ignored when tried to pay, followed by more pretentious smirking. Great success. Try harder. As a professional Chef and restaurant owner myself, this is the WORST possible experience you can provide. I give you 6 months before youâre gone. Hopefully sooner! Wonât ever be...

They have several breakfast sandwich/lunch options (brekkie before noon, lunch after noon), all served on bagels - bagel BLT, bagel meatball sandwich, bagel french toast, etc. Also good-quality tea and coffee; and bar drinks going until late (but no kitchen food after 5). Very fun concept, and well-executed. The owner and long-term staffers are very good, though some of their newer wait staff are less than stellar. Hopefully that will improve with time, and even then, the staff is all very friendly and polite. They also have a nice little patio, and are dog-friendly (inside and out)....
