Went in and was reading the menu out to my mother and felt very rushed by the inpatient young girl behind the till, asked questions but found it very difficult to hear her , finally did my order and I was waiting to put the pin number into the card reader but nothing was happening then I seen she had not even put the amount in for me to be charged, once I did my pin it said approved but the young girl said it had not gone through and I had to do it again , I told her it had said approved but she insisted that it had not , so I did it again it went though and I opened my bank phone app to see that I had been charged twice for the meals I ordered and when I told them I was told I had to wait until end of day before I Could Do Anything About It!!! , not happy with that , Then the food came , bacon cheese burger and a BLT the bacon was so burnt and I can not actually believe it was served, that went in the bin so I paid £6/7 for a salad roll , the burger was ok ( had better in the Newport Rd restaurant) , was not that warm and neither were the chips , but after the payment fiasco I felt that if I went and complained it would have felt it was because of the payment, but trust me it was because of the payment I never went back up because I don't know how I would have been because I was not happy being charged twice and to end up with crap food , I will never ever go into this place again because the food was not the standard of other five guys I've been in before, very...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE
Myself and my partner both ate hamburgers on Sunday (1 normal hamburger, one bacon cheeseburger, 1 medium Cajun fries and one refill drink) at roughly 6pm. We paid £29.60 for the food.
However, we have both been horrifically ill since we ate this food. Since 11pm Sunday evening, I have been up vomiting every 30 minutes since I got home amounting to 23 times! As well as having diarrhoea. This is the worst food poisoning I have ever experienced.
My partner has also been having explosive diarrhoea and vomiting since roughly the same time.
This meant we have both had to take a day off work to recover from this and possibly more depending on how we feel on Tuesday. We have both continued to have sickness and diarrhoea throughout the day today. This from a burger is unacceptable.
We have both eaten at five guys in different locations and never had a problem and would like to continue to be good customers but I don’t think we will be returning.
We would like to make a formal complaint about this, what action will be taken for this? We are experiencing pretty dreadful food poisoning so if the same standards of hygiene continue here, others will suffer the same consequences as us. Will we receive a full refund to compensate for this? We have also reported this issue to the food hygiene...
Read moreThe burgers are really good, not like mcdonalds if you think they are the same tgey are not! also a big selection, including the price for fillings . Fries are extra, which is sad as the burgers are very expensive. I liked them there a bit like a little potato skin on the chips . Need to ease up on the salt as I asked for more with little salt they were happy to change my chips. The biggest letdown was the bun it wasn't toasted and soggy. You have to ask for a knife and fork as ours had a lot of fillings. Will I go back that's a debatable? I might go one more time. The milk shakes for £5.45 biscoff with cream tastes of just vanilla ice cream with hardly any biscuit in it. Is that how it's supposed to be. I feel it's a lot of money, the milkshake. It's their first week open. It was very busy lunchtime, so it was very busy lunch time so very loud, and music made it louder. But it's great for the youngsters . These are my own views, and if I go back , I hope the chips are not over salty, and the burger bun isn't so soggy and its toasted by the time i sit down. I feel if your eating in why not use a tray to cut down on waste .. Also you can...
